We happened upon this state park quite by accident, but found it to be well worth the visit. There is a mansion on the grounds open for touring, but only on the weekend. The beautiful grounds and flower gardens, however, are fully accessible. This park is very clean with rest rooms, picnic areas, and beach access to Long Island Sound... More

We held a family wedding there in August, and it was spectacular. The gardens, service, mansion and setting. The grounds of the park itself are just beautiful.

Great place for a walk, a run, or a picnic. My family made it a Memorial Day tradition for many years. Beautiful gardens and trees.

The views, the lawns leading up to the beach, and the Harkness historic house are all stunning. The beach itself is good, a bit pebbly, and at some spots downright rocky and treacherous. It's also a non-swimming beach, so it's perfect of people into fishing or suntanning. The grounds of the state park have huge trees everywhere, where a family... More

We recently attended a wedding reception here! Very quant and set up nicely! All though the venue was reserved for the reception other users of the park were in the venue gardens and walk ways. But I guess this is a state park. The venue is an old mansion so some of the guess are in different rooms or balconies.... More

One of my favorite CT state parks. Lots of open space for kite flying, picnic tables for eating and a sandy beach, but they don't allow swimming. You can also tour the nearby mansion when it's open. Both the house and the park are very well maintained. There's a fee on summer weekends, not sure about during the week.

First visit with family. Beautiful State Park.We did't get a chance to tour the mansion because we went on a week day.Still had a wonderful day.The walk in the gardens, and sitting down by the ocean was pleasant.Followed by a picnic lunch. Enjoyed!

Great for family outing, running, walking, picnic but no swimming. A beautiful place to visit! We enjoy our visit all the time.

I told myself in last year's review I would return to fly a kite...promise fulfilled. After asking permission from the fellow at the gate who told me to fly to my heart's content, I did just that! Went down to the small stretch of beach, set up a beach chair and enjoyed the crashing waves, boats sailing into New London,... More

We enjoyed our visit to this park. There are gardens that can be explored, well manicured lawns, and there is a beach front nearby
