Coming from Australia, the concept of paying for wine tasting when visiting vineyards just doesn't work for me. To charge US$12.00 for 6 mouthfuls of 6 different wines really irks me! Especially when 4 of the wines were poor and only 2 were good. The unoaked Chardonnay and the Riesling were very good, the rest were pure trash. But compared... More

My friend's and I traveled here to celebrate our friend's 30th birthday. We each did a wine tasting that included 6 different wines (pretty standard). The wine is very similar to other CT wines found throughout the state. We loved the guy who poured us the wine - he was very personable and talkative. He gave us great suggestions and... More

This winery is down a long road (that is not paved). The girl that hosted the tasting was very nice and personable. We really enjoyed spending time with her. It is our understanding that the winery will be undergoing major renovations during this off season. The renovations will make this place even better.

Looks wise, the place is o.k., but the tour of the winemaking facility makes up for it. The wines are good, tasting prices are slightly high (but normal for this area).

We spent an afternoon there and enjoyed the wine. I felt it was a little high priced though for the quantity and not exactly a fancy location.

As far as Connecticut Vineyards go, Stonington Vineyards is nice. The grounds are not what you will find in California or elsewhere, but a nice place to visit. The wines are good, but not superior. The people there are friendly and service is good. They have a festival during the summer with local restaurants supplying food, music etc., which is... More

We came to this winery for tastings and a picnic. The wines were average. I did not fall in love with any. If you buy a case of wine you get the tasting free and a case price. You can bring your own food and blankets for a picnic.

Having visited wineries sprinkled throughout Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, Willamette Valley, and other west coast vineyards I didn't know what to expect when my sister recommended visiting this vineyard and a few others sprinkled throughout the small towns of south eastern Connecticut. What a surprising treat. While the grounds are somewhat bland, the tasting room and the basement where other... More

My girlfriend and I stopped here after a few other south east CT vineyards. The grounds were not nearly as nice as some of the others and the wine was still reminiscent of grocery wine but the staff was much more friendly than the other wineries I visited. If I could have given it a 1.5 star I would have.... More

We decided to take a break from the pool one afternoon and booked a wine tasting. The tour was informative and wine is great. Bought a few bottles to take home. Worth the trip.
