Ferry is oldest continuously running ferry service in the United States. It connects Rocky Hill to Glastonbury across the Connecticut River along Route 160. The ferry can fit 3 cars (sometimes 4 small cars). The wait is usually short, but I have seen it where cars have had to wait in an adjacent parking lot if the access road is... More

My kids and I recently hopped the ferry from Rocky Hill to Glastonbury and it was very cool! I think it was around$4-5 for my minivan. I pulled on, set the brake, shut it off and hopped out w/ the kids. We enjoyed watching the small tug maneuver the ferry and itself across the river and into dock. For the... More

It's the best way to cross the CT river. The deck hands are great. The view wonderful. It is the oldest, continuously operating ferry in the a United States.

Historic and fun at the same time. Not expensive, about $5 for driver and car, and all occupants. Takes about 5 minutes to cross the river, longer to load and unload. Kids will get a real kick out of it, as will most adults. Take the ferry, avoid the Putnam bridge's construction. the ferry park is a quiet, peaceful place... More

OK so it's a boat ride. We took the ferry after a long punishing bike ride to get us home and the view was just absolutely spectacular. The best $1 I ever spent on something touristy.

This ferry may be small (3 cars) but what history it has. It's the oldest continuously run ferry in the United States. You can get from Rocky Hill to South Glastonbury in about 10 minutes and it is such a beautiful ride on the river. The State of Connecticut almost shut it down a couple of years ago, but it... More

It's a small ferry across the river but very historic. It's well worth the fair even if you don't need to get to Glastonbury.

On a beautiful, fall afternoon, I was looking for something fun - but quick - to do with my son. We decided to go to the CT River and see if any boats were out. We walked the docks for a bit and watched the water for fish and then decided to take the Ferry ride across the river. You... More

I grew up in Rocky Hill and the ferry has always been a part of the lives of everyone here. It is a nice, peaceful ride and piece of history. My husband, having grown up in Hartford, never had the experience of the ferry while growing up. It wasn't until we took the ferry to attend the wedding reception in... More
