It's a small ferry across the river but very historic. It's well worth the fair even if you don't need to get to Glastonbury.

On a beautiful, fall afternoon, I was looking for something fun - but quick - to do with my son. We decided to go to the CT River and see if any boats were out. We walked the docks for a bit and watched the water for fish and then decided to take the Ferry ride across the river. You... More

I grew up in Rocky Hill and the ferry has always been a part of the lives of everyone here. It is a nice, peaceful ride and piece of history. My husband, having grown up in Hartford, never had the experience of the ferry while growing up. It wasn't until we took the ferry to attend the wedding reception in... More

We took our granddaughter to see the oldest continuously operating ferry in. I was a beautiful ride with views up and down the Connecticut River. We enjoyed the ride and the pilot helper told us stories of the river, the ferry and about currents. THANK GOD the state did not shut it down as suggested last year. This is a... More

This is the oldest continuously running ferry in the US. It's a nice short, scenic ride crossing the Connecticut river from Rocky Hill to South Glastonbury and back. It can handle only 2-3 cars.

Even I, who get seasick just looking at water, can stand this very short and pleasant crossing. Cars and foot passengers pay a small fee to cross, the disadvantage being that it is popular in good weather so there is often a wait for cars since the ferry takes so few at a time.

I took the ferry for the first time last year, 2012, and had such a wonderful (if brief) trip, i went again five more times during the season, even though i had no pressing need to cross the river. Then i discovered the farm stands just down the road on the Glastonbury side, one of which carries such delicacies as... More

Great way to get on the "other side" of the Connecticut River. Takes only a few minutes but you enjoy the sights and the enjoyment of traveling this way .I found the crew outgoing and had much knowledge to share.

Personnel were friendly & informative. Offered sight seeing tips and history of the ferry. Service was great and well worth the time and cost.
