It's an excellent trail from Putnam to Hampton. It's primarily an old railroad line convert for hiking. There are many access points with parking available making this a very well traveled train. A lot of locals use this religiously.

The Air Line Trail links East Hampton, Connecticut to Pomfret, Connecticut and about 80% is in good condition. There are some areas that are wet almost all the time and other areas that are overgrown with weeds during the summer months but all off it is capable of being walked without much difficulty.
