What a great day! We go every year, and the lessons are the best! The kids are old enough now to ski anywhere they want, and the convenience is great! They have a barbeque going outside, and a fire pit to sit around if it's a decent day! There are also hotels and restaurants nearby if you want to make... More

my 6 year old daughter and I have been skiing together for 3 years now and we really enjoy Mount Southington. First, it is SO convenient to everywhere.. and once you park, you just walk across the very flat driveway to the ticket booth. Second, they have a very nice learn to ski program and beginners chair lift (double) for... More

Enjoyed a weekend here in March and loved the experience for our children. Our four year old did a great job learning how to ski - he really enjoyed it. Out 9 year old, who had skied before, took a lesson and then skied with my wife and I for the rest of the day. He really picked up some... More

How convenient to have this family destination right in town. After school of after dinner for a couple hours makes it great. It's certainly not the biggest or fanciest ski area in New England but it exudes lots of charm and is priced right. There always coupons and vouchers you can find to make even more affordable. I hope they... More

Classic nightime ski area with a great old style family lodge, and really nice people. They catered an adult surprise birthday party for a friend and it was very good and professionally serviced.

We found beautiful snow and sufficient room in the beginner area to practice. We were thrilled to be able to try a chairlift for the first time. The operator was very kind and taught us how to get on and off. Unfortunately, the kids working the rental department were not well trained, the restrooms were old and out dated and... More

Me and my roommate came here in search of fresh powder which is what we got. Great runs, a bit of an issue with the lifts as they would periodically shudder and stop which can be quite disheartening. Either way it was super fun! Only thing is that the restrooms are oddly located and I walked into a boiler room... More

After several years of being away from down hill skiing I returned to Mount Southington Ski Area and I found: that the snow guns at Southington made beautiful powder, and with two new lifts operating put me on the summit in a few minutes. I found the staff worked hard to make sure the skiing was ready for all levels... More

My son (and husband) decided to try snowboarding. The lesson and package was reasonably priced and had them both looking like pros. Well, not quite! However, the restaurant and lounge left a lot to be desired. Restrooms were poorly maintained. Chairs and tables didn't look updated since I was there in 1981 for my first lesson. Beer and drink prices... More
