Recent remodelling of a historic theater/townhall building into a modernized stage theater, and its dedication to a past town resident, an award winning actress, Katharine Hepburn, has resulted in a first rate community/regional facility. There is also a small exhibit of "Kate's" stage and movie career. The Kate as a structure has a small human scale which makes it quite... More

"The Kate" is a beautiful theatre with incredible acoustics. I have attended a number of live musical performances here and have sat all over left, center, right orchestra from front row to back row and the mezzanine. I have yet to have a bad seat from the standpoint of viewing and listening. However, some of the chairs do not seem... More

Drove three hours to see one of my favorite musician's performance. Volunteers are patrons are very friendly and proud of The Kate, lovely theater inside and out. I'd be a frequent visitor if it wasn't so far away.

My friends and I have viewed many HD Simulcasts of NY Met Operas at the Kate. The price is certainly much more reasonable than the Met and the ability to see expressions on the faces of the stars as well as the details of the costumes and sets is a huge plus. The seating is comfortable and the sound is... More

The Cultural Art Center presents various artists on week end and week day nights. Seating is pleasant..(it's a former school auditorium). The staff are local volunteers. The Center in located in town.Shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

Extra special venue - charming theater with amazing acoustics!!! The shows are unique and you almost feel as though you are on stage. The front row balcony seating is a favorite.

Best theater on the Connecticut Coastline in a nice small town with shops and restaurants. The theater is small which makes the experience unique with comfortable seats. You can take your drinks into the theater and enjoy the show. The volunteer staff are friendly and the shows include musicians, simulcast from the MET and of course Katherine's movies. Don't miss... Great small venue to be up and close to the show - not a bad seat in the house! You can order wine etc before the show and during - nice evening out while supporting a great venue. People are friendly and helpful.

This is such a lovely theater and I wish I had more time to attend functions there. The classic movie showings, the simulcast of the Met, and live stage as well as musicians. I'm not a follower of popular groups, singers, etc. I did go see Michael Buble at Mohegan Sun Casino in CT and hated the venue. It's too... More
