We absolutely loved the boat ride out and back and the island is charming. I would have given it 5 stars, but when we were there we found 2 ticks on us and then found 2 more attached to my children when we got home--having already had lyme disease in the house, that didn't bring us much joy. We went... More

Went with two families and four kids during Memorial weekend; the ferry ride was uneventful, pleasant with good folks to guide us. People on the island were great; lighthouse tour was quick and lively due to the guides. Had a great time interacting with nature.

My husband and I went out on the first trip of the season. All the crew was great. We got sandwiches at the cafe/deli just down the street. Ferry ride was nice. We brought binoculars and saw many birds while on the ferry and on the island. Once on the island we toured the lighthouse and walked the short nature... More

I like learning about local history, so this was a must. It's a short boat ride from the Maritime Center. Our tour guide was great, and very knowledgeable. I also enjoyed the short walk around the island. Very peaceful.

As a non-profit organization, relying primarily on our volunteers to preserve the heritage of Sheffield Island, we are sorry that your expectations weren't met. We would like to accommodate all visitors with their native language, unfortunately that is not possible. We are at a disadvantage with the mosquitoes, we take measures to reduce them without using chemicals that would potently... More

Great for families, couples or a single get-away on your own. The boat ride is great and informative (I was not expecting the history given...cool to learn about the coastal city you live in!). Pretty quick boat ride and you can then spend a minimum of an hour and a half on the island; touring the lighthouse, walking through the... More

Nice and beautiful getaway. Would love to go back again. Summer and fall is the best time to visit this Connecticut's Long island sound gem. Picnicking will be fun as well too.

My friends and I just experienced the Sheffield Light House cruise this past Saturday and we enjoyed it immensely. A little bit of adventure, a bit of peace and quiet and a lot of fun. Very friendly crew and light house keeper as well as fellow passengers. Please visit my blog at http://photobycateblog.com/ where you can read more of my... More
