There is simply no place as unique as The Book Barn for browsing and buying books for any age group. Living nearby, it is THE destination for gifts, hard to find subjects and wide ranging choices and all a bargain price. There are 4 Book Barn destinations in Niantic ! For used books in great shape and variety, you cannot... More

This is an experience that once you have had you can never forget! The main location has acres of books, quirky trails and features, farm animals and other fascinating and fun things for everyone. The downtown location is also an excellent place to spend a whole day. They buy books too at the main location. I find myself almost at... More

We visited both the Book Barn, and the Book Barn Downtown, and picked up a couple of used books we've been trying to find for years. Do you want a cookbook that shows you how to prepare local seafood - they have it; or how about that Nero Wolfe selection that has always been missing from your library - yes... More

The "Barn" not their in-town store is the coolest book store I have ever been to in my life. Most of it is outdoors in tiny little sheds or buildings that you walk around like a little book town. Everything is organized by genre and there a thousands of used books at very good prices. If the kids get bored... More

Absolutely LOVE this place. Books books books...of every topic and interest! Staff are like family...very helpful and nice. Plus the cats are an added bonus! Books displayed neatly and can be easily found via category, and are housed in special little out buildings of their own...with little nooks and crannies. Very welcoming place for all...even free coffee and cookies !... More

If you like books you will like the Book Barn. It's worth the ride if you are not from the area. Only had time to see the original store but am looking forward to browsing the others.

It was a cold day in the low teens when I was taken to this used bookstore by a local, and I stayed so long my fingers, toes and face went numb! It was amazing, with a huge array of books and a really sweet and helpful staff. The book Barn is now my first stop when I am in... More

The Book Barn is a destination in itself. Not only will you find an inexhaustible supply of books of every description, but you'll enjoy wandering from building to building to shed to cart to browse the collection and enjoy the surroundings. There are cozy places to sit (and read) both indoors and out, a staff that's extremely knowledgeable and helpful,... More

I have been visiting the book barn for 10 years and always enjoy the hours browsing in the odd little sheds that dot the property -Halloween is the best time because of the wild decorations and warm enough to be outdoors! You can always find something at the barn!

Love this place. It was a perfect 10 today. The sun was shining on our backs as we browsed the new arrivals, books were coming in by the wagon load and I was just chilling with my husband. We figured it was the last hurrah of gorgeous weather and so did a lot of other people. Gosh, everyone is so... More
