The book barn is a charming and unique place to visit for the avid reader. Most soft cover books are $1 and I've never seen a book for over $5. There are multiple buildings filled with books and furnished with couches and seating ( and cats) so you feel comfortable browsing or sitting to read a few chapters. Each building... More

The book barn is definately a fun place to visit if you are a book lover. Loads of charm. I am sure others have written all about the seperate barns dedicated to diffrent catagories of books and the cats stroll around like they own the place, and the huge selection of used books to get lost in. There is also... More

I have been to my share of used bookstores over the years, spanning across several states. The Book Barn, without a doubt, is the absolute BEST used bookstore I've ever visited! I love all the funky buildings scattered about the expansive property. They have resident cats that in my opinion, add to the experience. The amount of books they stock... More

Wow, if you love to browse used books, please stop by one of the many book barn locations. As a mom of a young child, I was looking for something free and fun for both of us. I was not disappointed! While my husband and I took turns watching our son - while he played on the numerous areas set... More

Visited the outdoor Book Barn location (one of four within a couple blocks of each other - the other three inside locations) and was amazed at everything besides the thousands of books in little rooms to browse through. Not a spot for inclement weather though. Sold several boxes of books and have a strict and established system to sell -... More

This place is over the top. Several small sheds filled to the brim with books. There are lots of toys for the young children to play with while browse the many many books. This place is better then any large chain book store. There are also small animals, goats, for the kids to feed.

This is an unusual book store in four locations where books, old and newer, are bought and sold for very reasonable prices. My wife is an avid reader and bought many books. The odd layout through gardens and small buildings makes this place fun!

We're bookstore junkies, and this is one of our favorites. We stop by 3-4 times per year, mostly in the warmer months, and the inventory is always full of books we didn't see the previous visit. Lots of classics for $1, but there's something here for just about everyone. Nice little playground, too, and a few other non-book things sprinkled... More

This is THE place in Niantic. They have several locations with a variety of subjects but the main location with many buildings and various features are wonderful. Never have been here without finding something to take home. If you like to read or just watch people: go HERE.
