Wonderful beaches, family fun, clean water and great location

Love this place, clean water, easy to get to from southern Connecticut, lots of family activities, big pool, always worth the trip.

I cannot believe you have to pay to use beaches or lakes in New England. The beach was not the cleanest, overcrowded, bathroom filthy and parking lot trashed. Yet why are we paying to use beach if the funds are not being used wisely? Best beach, Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island.

We went the beach on a Friday and Saturday. Friday was nice and quiet. Beach was clean, little waves but rocky. Make sure you wear water shoes. Perfect for young kids. Had a splash pad and a playground. My kids really enjoyed both. Price is a little steep. $18 dollars for weekday and $23 for weekend. The little carnival rides... More

The boardwalk was in excellent condition and made a great walk with views of the beach and the ocean. Very hot day and shade well provided with benches and covered area. Picnic area for families and play ground for the kids.

This is another beach I visited that is family oriented. The beaches are clean. It's so nice to see the boats docked out on the water. It has small waves. It has picnic areas, volley ball nets, playground, pool, little water area for kiddies. They have a place to get food. Parking ran me 23.50(Sat) so it's a little pricey.... More

Very easy to find, lists of signage. Yes, you pay to park but that is common nowadays. The beach is wide and a little deeper than other local beaches. Lifeguards posted, trashcans, bathrooms ( fairly clean for the amount of people), concession stand and boardwalk area with a shady pavilion. We went midweek so is was full but not overly... More

Great place to spend the day on the beach. Was a little expensive to park, but the facilities are very good. Nice soft sandy beach with very clear water for Long Island Sound. The kids loved the water slides as well. Showers were not to readily available near the western end of the beach. I believe they are on the... More

I visited Ocean Beach Park on a Friday in in July, 2015. The park is very clean. The bathrooms were clean and functional. The sand is very soft and the water is the clearest I have ever seen for Long Island Sound. The splash pad is great for young kids and the little kid rides were great too. I think... More

Ocean Beach Park is one of the better places to be when you have little ones and its summertime. The park offers a beach, concession stands, changing/bathrooms, amusement rides, and an Olympic size swimming pool. There is a fee you have to pay at the entrance of the parking lot. However that does not include the rides nor the pool,... More

Nothing will ever replace the memories of growing up at OBP...The Gam Restaurant, the Pinball Arcade, the boardwalk, (under the boardwalk), the clam cakes, the French fries, Salt Water Taffy, polka bands, the creek between Waterford Beach and OBP where some of the best mud fights were won and lost between New London and Waterford. Friends made, new girl friends... More
