Yale's architecture is beautiful - no argument! But the poverty even on the sidewalk surrounding the campus is staggering. We would not have felt comfortable after dark. more

Take a walking tour of the university, especially in October, and you'll be treated to a wonderful scene that is quintessentially Ivy League. The leaves are turning colors and the students are wandering around the large grassy squares. The walking tour winds up near the Sterling Memorial Library which is truly remarkable. It feels more like a gothic cathedral inside... more

But Yale is gorgeous, and that's what we are supposed to be reviewing here. Only a few places in the US have buildings as old and as beautiful. New Haven is like any city - it can be block by block, which people from Wisconsin and Tennessee obviously don't understand. So if you are going to YALE, a tour will... more

Just returned from a school-related trip to New Haven. Although the Yale campus has nice architecture, a step in any direction will place you in the ghetto. I was completely shocked to find that Yale is in the middle of a trash dump! There was litter strewn EVERYWHERE! The neighborhood is TERRIBLE! If you choose to visit this place then... more

A place which is alive with student activity as it was hundreds of years ago. I did my home work on this stop and I knew on Saturday parking was free for about two hours so we parked at the chaple and temple st corner and began our tour. From the start you can see the old gothic style buildings.... more

September 2008 Yale was a great place to visit on a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon in September. The campus buildings and grounds are beautiful. A wonderful added bonus was listening to the orchestra rehearse in the courtyard. They were magnificent. I also enjoyed the tour of the university. The free student guided walking tour was mixed with good information... more

For an Ivy League college....yikes. The campus is beautiful, if you only stay on campus. Once you are off campus, the town and community are both terrible. Substandard housing and extreme poverty .......all that you see. A total Dump of a community. more

The best way to see Yale (if you are a causal sight-seer like me) is to go for one of the Guided Walking tours. This free tour starts are the Visitor's center and a student guide shows you all the important stuff - the architecture and the history narration are very interesting. For vegetarian food, I definitely recommend Corner-Copia, very... more
