I spent an afternoon walking the grounds and taking pictures of all the doors, gates, arches, and windows. I loved it! It is a very beautiful school. Keep in mind that it is not as cohesive and park-like as Harvard.

So many times we hear about a place, but never take the time to go see it. The architecture of Yale University is stunning, and made me feel like I was in England. Many of the buildings, while built in the early 20th century, were created to look old (collegiate gothic) in the design of Oxford and Cambridge Universities in... More

If the weather is decent, walking through the campus is a fine option. The architecture is interesting, and stands in pointed contrast to much of New Haven, which is a rather grim looking city.

It is a great place to stroll around any time of year. Easier to access than Harvard, with less touristy junk as it is situated in New Haven, CT. About 1.5 - 2 hrs up from NYC depending on traffic.

Very interesting tour around campus. The buildings look like they are 500 years old but were built in the 30's. The main library looks like a cathedral and overall the effect is just great. Nice tour, worth 90 minutes.

Have lived in the New Haven area all my life. Have been around Yale University many times through the years. The beauty of the buildings and the history behind them is quite interesting. Yale is spread out all over Downtown New Haven and you can walk to restaurants, theater, shopping, museums, etc., but you do have to remember there are... More

There is free guided tour of the university conducted by a student. Very nice 90 minutes to spend. Morning tour is at 1030. The library is a brilliant concept ( would not like to reveal ) British architecture, reminds me of Cambridge and Durham

The Old Campus is especially interesting with a variety of well-preserved old buildings, fine architecture and a large central green. It is situated right in the center of New Haven with many shops and eateries within easy reach.

Went for a walk around the Yale campus, not sure what I was expecting exactly, but generally found a bunch of snotty over-privileged white kids who seem to have forgotten they go to school in New Haven. If you're looking to go to an Ivy league school with a little class, try Dartmouth.

That is an outstanding university. The campus is part of the town and you walk through the campus enjoying neo-gothic buildings and, on and off, down to earth New Haven streets. Absolutely must see when you are in New Haven
