The day we went to Silver Sands was not the best for beach-going, but we enjoyed it anyway. A little rain won't hurt us!

This is an amazing little beach. It is never overcrowded, even on holiday weekends. Great beach front to tan and play on as well as access to the swimming area. There are very few facilities. Good beach to bring in your own cooler with snacks. This is a very family-friendly beach.

The beach is full of shells and it was difficult to walk in naked feet. The water was cold but many people... More

...but there is a boardwalk with benches along the way. Picnic tables near the parking area for use but not many of them. Signs saying no dogs are allowed on boardwalk but screw it just go! Everyone does it, but they do frown on bikes. Great place for kite flying and tossing a football but like all Ct beaches DO... More

A gem of a park, small, clean sandy beach that is never seriously crowded even on peak days. Always clean. Mile plus boardwalk that connects to Walnut Beach, a city beach. Noted bird watching location also. Only minor downside is a hike on a boardwalk over the wetland that connects the parking lot to the beach. Interesting hike to Charles... More

Great State park that hopefully will not become "commercialized" as the State of Connecticut has plans to do in order to take in revenue.

Silver Sands Park located in Milford Ct is a natural gem. It is a nature preserve on the beach. There is a two mike Boardwalk that has been painstakingly repaired after two hurricanes. It was well worth every dollar spent. Fishing, walking, jogging, beaching. Great place for families. Handicap accessible. Picnic and cooking area

Good location, so far there is not a charge to enter the park. Its a good change of scenery. If you look closely, there is some sea life all over the place. You can take a picnic & hang out for 1/2 a day.
