A very nice place to visit

Great parking area nice beach; can walk to Charles Island, but know the tides as it can be dangerous to get caught on the sand bar. Great views of Long Island Sound with a boardwalk that goes to Walnut Beach.

The warmer-than-average weather called us to take a long walk along the beach. Silver Sands was the perfect location. Parking is free, and it's a convenient location right of 95. The boardwalk winds through the estuary, and allows for lots of animal-watching. The beach was also covered with beautiful shells and sea glass (although some of it was not aged,... More

This park is very good, but the free parking turns it into an excellent rating for me. The extensive boardwalk makes this an awesome park to walk directly along the shore. Several benches along the way allow for scenic viewing breaks. Shells are in abundance along this waterway. Did not visit during the summer when the experience will certainly be... More

I love walking the boardwalk from Silver Sands Beach (where there is ample free parking) to Walnut Beach. The entire almost-mile-walk is along the Milford shoreline and depending on the tides and seasons, you will see abundant wildlife and nesting birds. It is always a great walk, even in the summer heat, because of coastal breezes. Sunsets are beautiful. There... More

I enjoy and walk this boardwalk very often and for many years..the big eye-sore is the remnants of the former dump that keep coming up here and there...but the point here is that the beach attracts alot of people that can't afford to pay high parking rates that are charged at most towns and state parks in CT. Unfortunately our... More

We took our two girls here as we have lived in Milford for almost a year and never made it this way. Silver sands is a great state park with excellent views of the sound, long island, and Milford. It's a great place to explore wildlife in the estuaries as well as take in some time on the beach. If... More

Nice beach, super location, lots of room to do family friendly activities, but be careful of the shells and rocks, wish there were more better rest rooms and food to buy but overall a nice place with good views

this beach is beautiful and so relaxing. It was such a calming get away from busy and loud nyc. First let me just say that the water is so clean that you can litteraly see the fishes swimming in the water. The waves are not strong so it allows you to really enjoy the warm water . If you want... A diner manager told us about this. Was gorgeous and relaxing. Even had an ice cream truck to get a yummy treat on the way back to the car.
