The Greater Rann of Kutch was an out of the world experience. We visited Bhuj towards the end of December during the Rann Utsav. The entire experience is worth sharing. After about one hour drive from Bhuj we entered the Banni Grasslands and checked in at Risamo Village resort. The resort gives you a flavour of Kutchi bhungas and pure Kutchi... More

We spent an evening in White Rann as a part of our Rann Utsav one day excurtion. We reached by bus from the Rann Utsav and reached White Rann in 15 minutes. The bus driver had parked the bus far before the White Rann and we had to walk a little. All the passengers requested the driver to take the... More

The Great Rann of Kutch is an awesome place. The Rann Utsav really brings it alive. The several thousand sq kilometers of salt desert seems like a white sheet of snow. It glows in the moonlight close the full moon (That's when you should visit) so much so that you have perfect visibility of seveeral kilometers in the middle of... More

I read a little bit about the phenomenon before I got there but read a lot more once I had been there, its just so amazing! The cut over from sand to salt is beautiful, fortunately tourism doesn't seem to have spoilt the place and its quite clean. The sunset is a must see, certainly worth the visit once in... More

Enjoy the grandeur endless nothingness! Over the past few years Rann Utsav has increasingly gained popularity and I could not resist the calling of Kutch. Since the Full Moon Night is supposedly the highlight of Rann Utsav visit I chose Holi for my visit. It was both good and bad that I chose the last full moon night of the... More

The experience at Great Rann of Kutch is simply awesome. At first sight , vast salt lake desert looks like never ending snow cladding on the earth. All around salt and only white salt. This phenomenal experience can't be explained in words, one has to go there to see its uniqueness.

Surreal experience! Stayed in Dhordo in Tent City during Rann Utsav. Visited at sunset and two nights during full moon. If you have a chance, definitely go for the sunset tour first. You get a much better sense of the beauty and the whiteness of the desert. If you are staying in tent city, you have two options to get... More
