Probably the most impressive site to visit in the Great Rann of Kutch is its White Desert, a vast expanse of salty White. There is some argument going on, if this is bigger or smaller than the Salar of Uyuni, in Bolivia's Altiplano. For me both are phantastic sights; Uyuni left me the stronger memory just because I could spend... More

Worth a visit if you have not been to salt desert before ! Could not manage to see the desert during night time, but the view of sunset was surely worth a watch ! PS: The place tends to get on a bit colder side during evenings, so don't forget to carry warm clothes along.

Just a white salt desert and thats it! The camps are OUTSIDE the salt desert. The market stalls are nothing fascinating (the Suraj Kund mela in Delhi is much better). Don't go unless you want to check off one thing from your list (and it is also probably on your list because it has been marketed very well by Gujarat... More

I stayed in Dhordho tent city during Rann Utsav. The place was good in the first appearance village like but the Rann of Katch white salt dessert is very much hyped by the Brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan. I have not found anything mesmerizing and to add that the stay is very costly.

If you have seen a salt desert before this is a long drive for a sunset viewing. We are very glad we didn't stay out here. Brutally hot.

It was an o.k. experience. The Rann doesn't look like the way it is portrayed on TV, as the Moonlight doesn't throw much light on Rann in comparison to the floodlights, which are used while shooting the advertisement commercial.

Worth the long drive to this very remote part of India and a beautiful moonlike landscape not to be missed as one of the places to visit in your lifetime.

Haven't been to anything like this - sea and desert of salt. Didn't stay but travelled after visiting kala dungar. Was nice time to visit as it wasn't neither too sunny not chilly. Stayed till sunset and then went to shopping in nearby market. Don't wear new / tacky shoes, they will be ruined in salt. Be careful while getting... More

OMG, it is quite an experience. I took my Mahindra Thar 4x4 for a ride in the Rann. It was the most unique driving and travel experience. An absolute must-visit place.
