I had visited this place called “The Great Rann of Kutch” which is situated in the Kutch district of Gujarat state, INDIA. ‘Rann’ is the Hindi word for Desert. A place spread across 7505.22 square kilometres, is one of the largest salt desert in the world. It is popularly called as The White Desert simply because it is the land... More

Travel during the Rann Festival as infrastructure is better those days and heat is low.... I had gone during mid Feb while the festival was towards end and didn't stay there. Morning 9 to 11 saw high increase in temperature and wind flow. Morning or evening, not night is a suitable time to take a walk deep in the Rann.... More

A must to do for 3N 4D. The experience is one of a kind. Staying is in Cozy Tents on the Desert - with AC is a better option. Best Time is November to February as its winter. Must not miss the White Sand Tour - before sunset. Keep handy - Camera & Water bottle & Cap. Advisable - full... More

The visit to the white desert on a full moon night is an unforgettable experience. The glow of the moonlight on the salt encrusted earth is truly mesmerising. You can take a camel ride about a kilometer deep into the desert, the ride itself is great fun.

Unbelievable. It may sound banal and trite but what else if not surreal. The place is calm and the White rann stands out. The easiest way to reach is to go to bhuj and then about one and a half hour journey. It may be possible to strike a deal for entry in the White rann with BSF but not... More
