Description: Haight-Brown Vineyard takes great pride in being part of a wine industry...
Haight-Brown Vineyard takes great pride in being part of a wine industry in Connecticut that is steadily building a reputation in the eyes of those who enjoy the world’s fine wines. Haight-Brown Vineyard, Inc. is Connecticut's oldest winery, opening its doors in 1975. The winery is located in Litchfield Ct. in the northwest part of the state . The Litchfield vineyard grows 45 –50 tons of grapes per year and produces Vinifera wines and French Hybrid blended wines. Retail wine is available for sale and includes the familiar Chardonnay, Merlot, Riesling etc., as well as seasonal varieties such as AppleCrannie, Spring Fling etc. Seasonal events begin with the Annual Barrel Tasting in April, followed by the Festival on the Farm in June, and our Fall Harvest Festival in September. Sales are predominantly from the winery, with some special label business and package store distribution in the local area. The company does not sell out-of-state. Walked into the bar area where there were 2 seats which we went over to. A very imperious woman shooed us away saying there were a lot of other people waiting. There were two people looking at merchandise. We sat at the other bar. Bartender was knowledgable but pours were minuscule. We left a substantial tip and did not receive... More

I've been to this winery a few times and the honey nut apple wine has always been a favorite for me. After we did the tasting I bought 2 bottles for company visiting the next week. Only problem was what they sold me was completely different than what we tasted, and was probably the worst thing I've ever tasted. I... More

Went back hoping things where better! NOPE, sad part is that the wine recipes have changed and I didn't even enjoy the wine. Tasting was quick and I personable server. Groupon purchase isn't worth the deal at this point! Sad that this can't be a friendly place of business.

We enjoyed our tasting - you can choose 6 wines or the full 10 available, along with cheeses or chocolates or both. The winery also runs special events like a pig roast or train excursion or something called Chocolate Decadence, which sounds intriguing to me! Went up the stairs and chose to stay inside for the tasting rather than sitting... More

I had an end of the year outing at the vineyard and very impressed. We did the wine, cheese and chocolate tasting in the private room AND the vineyard prepared lunch for us. I was unaware that was an option and thought we had to bring our own food- but the lunch provided was great and due to OUR mis... More

A friend and I did a tasting with wine and chocolate pairings, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. We considered adding the cheese, but we were going to dinner afterward so thought it would be too much. The wines were varied and we liked all of them quite a bit, and the chocolate selections were well chosen. The service got rather slow... More

Haight-Brown hosted my sister's bridal shower (June 2015) and it was fabulous! We had a private wine pairing class. Not only was the wine delicious with the cheese & chocolate, but the attention that the owners gave us throughout the entire event (before, during, and even after) exceeded my expecations. I highly recommend this place for not only visits, but... More
