Latest movie we saw there was Blackfish. They usually have very good documentaries and other quality films and you can always take in the current art exhibitions prior to watching the movie.

We went to the cinema at Real Art Ways...I hadn't been to Real Art Ways in years, and it was nice to return. Not only can you see a movie, you can check out the latest exhibits afterwards. It was also a very pleasant surprise to buy a small popcorn for $3, unheard of in the larger cinemas!

It's hard to find, but worth the effort. Check out the event schedule and attend a performance of your liking. We love the high quality environmentally supportive films. Don't be surprised by the beer and wine at the concession stand. If you are over 62 ask for the senior pricing. (Easy on fixed incomes and broken incomes as well.)

Tucked away in the Parkville section of Hartford is one of the city's rare gems. Real Art Ways is a unique combination of art galleries, indie/foreign film house, cafe and gathering place. Where else can you find Game Night, Creative Cocktail Hour, live entertainment and oh-so-fun special events and parties? My latest visit was the annual Odd Ball which is... More

Not sure how this art gallery/theater ended up under the “Shopping” category. It’s a nice contemporary art space in what looks like rehabbed factory buildings with 5 gallery spaces at the time of our visit. There was a mix of art shown including paintings, sculptures and video/photographs. It's good for about an hour trip. We did not go to see... More

Real Art Ways says it is a contemporary arts center. I wouldn't have imagined a place like this in Hartford Connecticut in a million years. They've got a movie theater, art galleries, beer and wine and other things to snack on. I went to their "Creative Cocktail Hour," which is the third Thursday of every month, and saw an amazing...
