Best place for a movie

To see movies 'off the beaten path' this is THE place. They have a nice little cafe where you can have coffee/ wine before/after or bring into the theater

Real Art Ways has been here for quite a while but it keeps reinventing itself. The galleries are chock full of great art, the movies are unique and the programs are cutting-edge. But the real draw is the clientele; the best of every slice of people. I am there often!

I attended the Living Cat Exhibit last month at this art gallery, cinema, exhibit and social business and was thrilled at the authentic presentation. A shelter seeking homes for lovely kittens and cats was apparently contacted and partnered with an artist exhibit centering on cats. It was a marvelous paring - the real and actual to touch and hold along... More

RAW as we call it is the ultimate destination for fun, learning and togetherness. This is one of the most welcoming sites in Hartford fulfilling everyone's needs for urban adventure. The movies are terrific, the galleries are brimming with new art but the real reason for its excellence is the multigenerational crowd that gathers here for their ever-changing events. Of... More

This is one of my favorite places in Hartford. The theatre is spacious, clean and comfortable and shows a variety of Indies. There's also art and music - check the calendar for exhibits and performances. The Oscar nominated shorts are also shown yearly (about a month before the Oscars). You can also have wine, coffee and dessert in the theatre.... More

Latest movie we saw there was Blackfish. They usually have very good documentaries and other quality films and you can always take in the current art exhibitions prior to watching the movie.

We went to the cinema at Real Art Ways...I hadn't been to Real Art Ways in years, and it was nice to return. Not only can you see a movie, you can check out the latest exhibits afterwards. It was also a very pleasant surprise to buy a small popcorn for $3, unheard of in the larger cinemas!

It's hard to find, but worth the effort. Check out the event schedule and attend a performance of your liking. We love the high quality environmentally supportive films. Don't be surprised by the beer and wine at the concession stand. If you are over 62 ask for the senior pricing. (Easy on fixed incomes and broken incomes as well.)

Tucked away in the Parkville section of Hartford is one of the city's rare gems. Real Art Ways is a unique combination of art galleries, indie/foreign film house, cafe and gathering place. Where else can you find Game Night, Creative Cocktail Hour, live entertainment and oh-so-fun special events and parties? My latest visit was the annual Odd Ball which is... More

Not sure how this art gallery/theater ended up under the “Shopping” category. It’s a nice contemporary art space in what looks like rehabbed factory buildings with 5 gallery spaces at the time of our visit. There was a mix of art shown including paintings, sculptures and video/photographs. It's good for about an hour trip. We did not go to see... More
