Fabulous theater in the basement where no one has a bad seat. Every seat is close to the stage, so no binoculars are necessary. The plays are always fresh, exciting and unique. New works and first runs, terrific actors and interesting plays.

I have attended several plays at TheaterWorks. It is an interesting theatre. It is almost a theatre in the round, but not quite. When you enter at street level you walk downstairs to get to the theatre. I have enjoyed all of the plays that I have seen at TheatreWorks and they bring in some very good shows and talent.

i have been a subscriber for at least seven years. I Have never been disappointed. We do pay extra for Reserved seats, but to us it is worth it. Yearly subscribers get a parking pass, too. It is very unique, and all the plays seem to have a theater works added twist.

A little known theater in Hartford. Very intimate seating, not a bad seat in the house, lots of variety.

I saw a play called "Good People" here in June 2015. This was a wonderful play, with really strong performances by the cast. I had never been here before. Thankfully someone in our group HAD been here before and was aware of the seating situation. The good seats in the middle are all reserved, but the seats on the side... More

Great theater. I have been a subscriber for many years and most plays are first rate. It is a small theater and there really are no bad seats.

Great little theater in historic Hartford. Interesting seating policy - open seating but for a small fee you can get reserved seating. Don't know if reserved seating is actually worth it.... I specifically asked for aisle seating and they said no problem.. Got there, we had reserved seating, but not on an aisle (6 seats in)... no bad seats in... More

This is a very interesting theater in the heart of Hartford. It is small and therefore intimate and you can see the actors plying their craft up close. Last year, we attended a performance of The Other Room which was exceptional well done. I had seen the play on Broadway with Laurie Metcalf (she deserved a Tony for her performance).... More
