Stayed in Hartford on business for a few days, and walked through the park a couple of times. It is a restful place in the middle of the city. On one of the days, we visited a memorial that had been made out of recycled guns, a memorial to non-violence.

I used to eat lunch here every day when I worked across the street at One Union Place. It's truly one of the gems of Hartford's exceptional park system.

What a lovely park! After a long winter, people were enjoying sitting outside on blankets on the lush lawn. There's an outdoor stage and a beautiful fountain. I was glad the water hasn't been connected yet as it gave me a chance to see the fine brass statues up close. They are gorgeous! The view of the Capital building is... More

This is a great place for young and old to unwind after spending time at the nearby Science Center. An awesome view of the Capitol Building is available from most of the park. We only had about 30 minutes to spend here but the spring grass and warm weather made it a great place to walk around. Unfortunately, we did... More

Bushnell Park's Winterfest is a great way for the community to enjoy free ice skating in the winter. They provide skates to those that need them, and there was also a chance to visit with Santa Claus if you went at the right time. This is a great free activity to do with family and friends. Winterfest runs from (I... More

A nice pretty urban park. Pretty carousel, nice ice rink, kids playing on the green. I would be afraid after dark.

We like the openness of the park. You can ride the carousel, pick up a bite to eat from several food vendors, take a seat and enjoy the sound of the city...close to the capital and other businesses, it is safe just use common sense. The oddest thing we saw was a man with his son trapping pigeons...oh well, it... More

This is a lovely park that would make for a nice walk. During the summer months a couple of food trucks line the street and there will be some summer concerts. During the month of December a skating rink opens for everyone to enjoy. It's a lovely park with a beautiful carousel for children to enjoy. Grab a blanket and... More
