The carousel in Bushnell Park is fun and only costs one dollar. The horses are nicely decorated and the ride is fairly long. A must for kids!

What a beautiful carousel in the park. It is beautiful and exactly 100 years old today July 26th 2014. Lucky me happened to be in town. Free rides and lots of people. And dressed docents. A real town event. A festive carnival like event and it was wonderful. Be sure to take a spin on the carousel when you are... More

Pretty park and timely respite from the heat of the city on a summer day. Enjoyed the carousel which was celebrating it's 100th birthday with a Wurlitzer still playing while it spins. A ride costs $1. Worth it even if you don't want to ride. Beautiful view of the capital building.

Unfortunately there was construction just now, so it was a little difficult to access. The park is beautiful and the carousel a treat. I was surprised that the Native American garden was full of weeds.

What a lovely park. We brought lunch and sat by the pond. People were walking, jogging, and laying in the grass on blankets catching some rays. An oasis in the city. Very lovely. There is a stage where they put on shows/concerts. That must be lovely. On a Monday afternoon, there were no shows, so I can only imagine. I... More

The park was a wonderful space to walk around and get some fresh air. My wife and I eloped and were married in Hartford for this trip. Walking around the park as the evening was setting in was very tranquil and peaceful. It is a beautiful space to enjoy.

A nice green space in the middle of the city. The highlight is the carousel. Also, in the wintertime, they have a big tree and free ice skating. Worth a stop as you drive around.

I love the open spaces and the antique carousel. There are lots of grounds for a picnic or playing frisbee with the dog. Also lots of sidewalks for walking the park end enjoying the sights and sounds of Hartford. Definitely ride the carousel! The playground is good for the kids and the water with fountains is relaxing.

The park paths criss-cross and allow for good jogging space through and around the perimeter, with stunning views to the Capitol Bldg front and center. There are other historical markers I didn't stop to read, great sculptures, fountain; grass is well kept. Lovely place to snooze in mid way. I'm sure the people at the park vary throughout the day...
