Elizabeth Park is great for a picnic, practicing Taijiquan, enjoying the flowers or just taking a slow walk. Watching the ducks in the pond is relaxing and eating lunch in the Pond House is very satisfying. It's a good place to get away from it all. Now, to those folks complaining about the conditions...flowers are seasonal. They're not available all... More

June is the best time to visit when the rose garden is in full bloom. Centered with a covered gazebo, paths radiate outward covered with climbing roses with beds of every hue in between. It is a very popular place for weddings and wedding photos. Across the road is a perennial garden and a fabulous restaurant is in the park... More

Beautiful gardens. Great place to sit and contemplate and smell the roses. The Pond House Café offers great views.

It has one of the oldest rose gardens in the country and that's what it's most know for. The rose area is shaped like the Sun with a central area that people often get married in during summer blooms and rows of hundreds of roses of every color that spoke out from there. There is also a pond and trails.... More

Elizabeth Park is 20 minutes from our present home and used to be only four minutes away from out past home in West Hartford. We even have a bench dedicated to us in the flower garden. The annual flower garden is designed and planted by Bob and he has been there for many decades. Devoted to his artist work Bob... More

I have been to Elizabeth Park many times and walked away feeling awed by the beauty. Roses, in every shape and form, are the park's primary feature, and they are in abundance everywhere. From the moment you set foot in the park, you know you are experiencing a unique habitat of sight and smell. There even is an excellent restaurant... More

This is my favorite park in Hartford, CT. There is a view showing downtown Hartford from one end of the park, and spectacular Rose Gardens on the other side. The duck pond and little cafe are two highlights, as well as a diverse assortment of trees and flower gardens. Everything is labeled and easy to find. There is even a... More

A beautiful park, in any season. Formal and informal gardens. Lots of paths for walking and contemplating and park benches for sitting and reading. Wonderful open spaces for picnicking. Lots of very tall, shady trees. Wonderful vistas. Great for photography buffs. Well maintained. The rose garden (circa early 1900s) is a treasure. The solarium hosts garden and horticulture oriented events.... More

We were expecting roses but they weren't in bloom. It is still a beautiful park. Very busy on a Saturday afternoon.

The rose gardens are at their best in the month of June. The Park sponsors several special events around the time the roses peak. The Heritage Rose garden has been undergoing a major renovation in the last 2 years. It is looking good. We enjoy riding bikes and running around the park. The Wednesday evening concerts in the summer are... More
