The nations largest unfinished monument, still missing statutes.

Beautiful Capitol that is the jewel of Connecticut, both as an historic building and as the seat of political power. I work near the Capitol so drive by it every day. There are... read more

I was there for my community gathering where Prachi desai visited us for Independence Day celebration. It’s historic (as I found in wiki page) and building was quite impressive... Bushnell Park is just behind it and it is right located in Hartford downtown.. Don’t forget your camera.. ;)

My husband and I are trying to do all the state capitols and this was one of the beautiful historic ones. A huge edifice with many levels (not just 1-5 but many mid levels with many many steps!) and they do have elevators but if you use those you can't see all the mid levels very well. We took the... As a Capitols lover, I had to visit the Connecticut one. I've been impressed by the beauty of the golden dome and the inside (the painted walls are beautiful). Also, the Senate chamber is different from the ones in the others Capitols: all the seats stand around the place. Moreover, I could have a very interesting guided tour by a... More

We visited the Connecticut State Capitol on a Saturday. Unfortunately, it is not open on Saturdays, so we had to enjoy it from the outside. The building is gorgeous with very interesting and detailed architecture. It would have been nice to see the interior as well, but it was worth a stop at any rate.

It's the Capitol of Connecticut and a beautiful landmark in the heart of the city. It's worth the trip to stroll the halls and see where laws are created and eventually passed.

Great building to take pictures of. The architecture is detailed and interesting. Didn't get a chance to go inside, but would try if I ever return. The park in the front t is also nice, and has a great vistas for picture taking.

Nice architecture, cool exhibits. We especially enjoyed the cannon ball from the civil war embedded in a tree trunk that you get to touch. Also cool to see the house of Representatives room.

The building is an architectural gem, - definitely worthy of a day trip. Be certain to take the tour of the building - it is provided such a vivid historical account. It will only take an hour or so - and our tour guide was just wonderful. If you call in advance to check the schedule - you may be... More
