It's the Capitol of Connecticut and a beautiful landmark in the heart of the city. It's worth the trip to stroll the halls and see where laws are created and eventually passed.

Great building to take pictures of. The architecture is detailed and interesting. Didn't get a chance to go inside, but would try if I ever return. The park in the front t is also nice, and has a great vistas for picture taking.

Nice architecture, cool exhibits. We especially enjoyed the cannon ball from the civil war embedded in a tree trunk that you get to touch. Also cool to see the house of Representatives room.

The building is an architectural gem, - definitely worthy of a day trip. Be certain to take the tour of the building - it is provided such a vivid historical account. It will only take an hour or so - and our tour guide was just wonderful. If you call in advance to check the schedule - you may be... More

We have visited 10+ capitol buildings over the last few years and this was one of the most impressive. As well, the tour guide, Miss ElaineEOS was perhaps the best guide ever. She went out of her way to show us all the interesting art and historic objects. And because it was just my husband and me, went over the... More

The guided tour starts with some history, moves to the architecture and then continues with House and Senate chambers as well as the library and state room. The original charter document from the king of England is also on display. A small gift shop is also open. This location is very close to the train station downtown so it is... More

We stopped at this place kind of just to see what it was. I am very glad we did. I really enjoyed seeing some of the old world architecture, very different than anything we have in Georgia. It's free, another good point when your family is 8 people. They are very relaxed here, once you get through security that is.... More

I was passing by and needed somewhere to picnic and change my baby's diaper. We got to the park easily off the highway and enjoyed sitting down in the beautiful lawns under some trees. We only saw the State Capitol from the outside, but it looked spectacular.
