A ride on an old steam railroad, before stopping for a riverboat excursion, then back to the station. What a great way to spend an afternoon!

Train was nice, dinner was excellent. The displays in the station are tired and need cleaned up and repaired and the photo gallery was not impressive..the ride itself was grand. Take a sweater tho, the temp was rather chilly for most of the ride would have froze if husband hadn't shared his sport coat with me. You need to walk... More

The staff on the train and the boat was very friendly and professional. The food on the dinner train was something to be desired. I found the carrots and the green beans to be very undercooked. The seats were too hard. Other than that the trip was nice. It did bring me back in time to the 1920s.

Had a great experience with 2 toddlers ages 3 and 1. It was just enough to do for my 3 year old. We did all the activities in approximately 4 hours. Lots of great photo opportunities with some lines but if timed well they were not so bad. It was very well organized which is helpful when traveling with little... More

Last Sunday I took my almost 6 year old Granddaughter for a delightful afternoon of old-fashioned fun on the Essex Circus Train. What a special way to spend a warm summer afternoon. She especially loved the train ride with all the circus cars and the intimate circus where everyone under the big top could see the show up close and... More

Staff was very friendly, would recommend open car in the summer for better air flow. Ride was nice and the boat was fun as well good outing for the day. Wish the served food on the train, their is a cafe at the station but no eating allowed on train, drinks are ok

Been going on this excursion for 50 years and I still enjoy it. You rant a steam train ride for about 7 or 8 miles, then the train reverses and lets you off at the riverboat. The ride up the CT River is a great way to spend a hot afternoon. In Autumn, you see some of the best foliage... More

Train ride is about one hour. The weather was beautiful and the breeze through the open windows was wonderful. Nice way to see the countryside. We enjoyed it.
