What a quaint little town; strolled up and down the streets, lunch at the Griswold Inn and ride on a steam train thru Connecticut along the river. We missed the time frame for the open car though.

We went on the Santa Express four years ago when my son was five - it was just right at the time. The year after we went on the North Pole express - in the coach car.... it was cute but tight spaced for four people sitting next to each other on the bench seats. I wasn't going to go... More

We visited the steam train on an early fall day with the family. It was a nice hour long ride on the train with the foliage starting to change. Fares were $19 for adults and $10 for kids age 2 to 11. We had a fun time.

Like Polar express come to life! Each car was decorated with their own host or hostess. Ours was Candy Cane, and she was amazing. She played games, was very animated and had a lovely singing voice. We were visited by Santa and the Mrs, and given cocoa and cookies. Kids are encouraged to wear their christmas PJ's.

We went on the Polar Express on Saturday @ 5:30 with family and friends. Ruby was great, such a talented young lady. She kept the entire car entertained. Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the elves were great too. We would definitely do this again as ahoiday tradition.

We just did this attraction in Essex for the first time and really enjoyed it. We went on a Thursday night, 5:30 train and it wasn't crazy busy or overcrowded. It was perfect. The train car was neat and clean and the entertainment was excellent! Our elf Mr. Manny kept things always moving along and entertaining for the kids. This... More

Do not waste your money on the North Pole Express. The people who work there are awful, mean to children and their families and just look at it as a money maker. I won't go into details but in a nut shell…the Santa who came on the train yelled at my 5 year old son and told him in a... More

If you're reading the positive and negative reviews on here and thinking..."maybe it really is good," I have to say that I really don't know how someone could go on polar express and have a good experience. It was crazy loud, long, and overstimulating. Each train car has a performer with a mic that gets all the kids to yell... More

My kids 4 and 3, had an okay time on the train. It's very organized and the cars themselves are decorated nicely and comfortable enough for 1.5 hrs. Make sure to get there on time and go to the bathroom before the train station! The one in the train is horrendous and the lines are excessive at the station. The... More
