Great family outing destination

This is a great place for a multi-generational outing. We all had fun, learned new things and made good memories.

There is soooo much potential for this museum, but the fact is the attractions are sparse. My kids enjoyed playing in the little play area. There are a couple neat attractions, but they have room and potential for so much more!! The gift-shop, was not a gift-shop. It was a couple random items on the counter that you came in... More

We came with our daughter and four year old granddaughter as a great little destination half way between northern NJ and northern CT. Some of the exhibits were fascinating for her, but many lacked explanation or were filled with lots of reading and facts. Some of the interactive parts were not working, which is always a disappointment. There is a... More

I came here with my husband, daughter (15 months), friend, and Godson (almost 3). We accidentally came on a free admission day. We were worried because we thought the crowds would be out of control but the activities were well managed and it wasn't bad at all. We especially liked the special area for the kids 3 and younger. The... More

We stopped by the museum and it's small but decent. We went to 2 shows, before both shows the presenter dragged on and on with the "rules" listing examples of everything he said. This type of talk may have been necessary for elementary school children but completely irritating to a room full of adults who may or may not have... More

The museum itself is small and needs a bit of updating. The bottom floor, where the planetarium is located, has a few interactive space exhibits. Nothing worth a return visit. The planetarium had a show which included Sesame Street characters. It was pretty good. Taught the kids some of the basics. The other two floors had other things to see,... More

This was the first visit for our nearly 4 yr old grandson, we've brought his cousins previously, and he had such a great time. Even though he didn't understand the scientific parts of the exhibits, he had fun with all the button pushing, hand waving etc used to generate things throughout. We also liked seeing the people using the Adventure... More

I really hate to give a negative review. I'm am rating this attraction just on what I noticed on Satuday when I took my granddaughter. I haven't been to this museum in 15 years and heard that it had been updated. There is a section for children between the ages of 1-3. There were no shoes allowed in this section... More

Thank you very much for your feedback! There are a couple of points we’d like to touch on in your review of the Museum. You visited The Discovery Museum on our single busiest day ever! We had over 1,600 people through the door that day for Space Day, which was helped made possible by the Connecticut Space Consortium, so thanks... More

Lots of great programs for the local schools. Great museum to have locally. Some of the exhibits need updating, this is due partly due to the funding problems they were having, I would imagine. Cute place to visit when the kids are little. But I would not make a special trip.

My daughter went to the most wonderful birthday party at Discovery Museum...the girls had a theme party called Spa Science and they made their own peppermint lip balm...wish I was a kid! Everybody loved it, and I'm definitely going to get the Dino Hunters party for my littlest one. The staff was really kid-friendly, which was nice.
