We decided to try a little adventure and do the Minturn Mile. It was easy to find we were assured by locals it would be safe. We had my 11 year old daughter and 18 year old autistic son along and made sure we could catch a cab back to Vail from the Minturn Saloon. The top was the only... More

If you ever hear of the Minturn Mile on a vacation in the Eagle River Valley and you want to ski it, you better make a friend who is a local. The trail starts outside Game Creek Bowl and goes off piste rather quickly. It is a challenging trail that usually requires that someone has parked a car at the... More

A backcountry experience for even intermediate skiers. Arrange a car shuttle or pickup in Minturn at the end of the day.

We walked a little ways up from the Minturn side... it would be something to ski down! Quite narrow.

Yeah, the first 10 turns on are fun, maybe 20. Then you will be in in a luge run to the bottom along a creek. Do it once, go to the Saloon in Minturn, been there done that.

I just learned to ski and after three weeks of skiing my friends took me down the Minturm mile to the bar. The first half, after a good snow was filled with tons of fresh powder. The second half of the trail was icy and luge like, the whole ride down I spent trying to slow my speed down. By... More

This trail is off the Lost Boy slope of Game Creek bowl. Much of it is a narrow track which opens into a wider expanse. Parts of it near the stream may require walking across it if there's not enought snow. Should be done with a guide.

This is one of the best Saturday markets I've ever been too. So many good, fresh foods and a great variety. The crepes were a booming business and the roasted chillies were a great "take away" for my family. Enjoy - and eat your way through this quaint little town!

I have skied this twice with friends and aside from being off the beaten track, the reward is having a beer at the bar at the end of the run. A great way to end a spring day.

The drop in can be a lot of fun on a powder day, but there is a long luge like run out that seems to take forever. If you do it have a margarita at the Minturn Saloon to celebrate.
