Walking path with beautiful views

Spent several hours just walking through Vail and enjoying nature and the scenery. This was one of our favorite things to do on our trip to Colorado.

We really enjoyed this scenic path. We rode our bikes from Lionshead Village east to where the path meets up with a busy highway and went a little beyond that. Traffic wasn't heavy but the cars go fast. Luckily there is a wide shoulder. By riding east you encounter the uphills on your way out. This makes the return trip... More

This is a beautiful path through Vail. Lots of things to see along the way. It's an easy ride from just about any hotel in Vail.

Vail has a truly great system of walking and bicycle paths. This community is very up-scale and they have made a great place to live and vacation. Bring your bike or rent one here.

We used the trails primarily for walking/jogging. Wow, nicely done and follows the Gore River through town and beyond! Well maintained and marked.

It is in Vail so it is surrounded by beauty and nature, no matter what (strolling, running, blading, biking) this is a nice trail

It is great for riding a bike or a pretty walk as you get acclimated to the altitude and get into more serious hiking.

Early morning or late evening, Vail offers fabulous paths for strolling or serious walking. Great way to work off calories from all the wonderful restaurants.

I rented a road bike from Charter Sports and my wife brought me to the top of Vail pass ( elev. 10,600). You can access the bike path at Black Lakes rest stop approx. a mile down (West) a frontage road from the main rest stop at Vail Pass. It's then a gleeful 15 miles (approx.) downhill to Vail, depending... More
