The museum is located above the parking garage in the Vail transportation center near the covered bridge. There are a few steps to climb to get to it and is easy to miss if you are new to Vail Village. We particularly enjoy the display of the 10th Mountain Division history in Vail and the occasional live story teller there.... More

Well worth taking the time for it. Nice displays and nice gift shop. Vintage Ski outfits were interesting. Informative about the history of Vail.

What started as a very modest collection is really a showpiece. Equipment and memorabilia from every era bring back many memories.

We lucked out when we stopped by the museum for a visit. A 10th Division veteran just happened to be giving a talk when we got there and we were able to join in the small group listening. His stories were incredible. After he finished, the rest of the museum was interesting. We particularly enjoyed the "ghost ski towns" and... More

I think the museum might be free. If you are a skier, pretty neat to see the evolution of ski's and equipment.

Wonderful displays of ski history and the 10th Mountain Division. We liked the exhibits about snowboard history and the equipment on display. Also the old skis and boots. The Olympic alpine skiing history for very good. Most interesting was the 10th Mountain Division display. Those men were amazing!

Good artifacts from more than 50 years old product innovators. It is in the cntre of the town and the entry is free. There are old videos playing on the screens providing a background on various events that have taken place in Vail.

Great little museum with skis from the early days to the first few snowboards!! Great for kids and adults - can do a quick spin through in 15 min to see highlights or take your time and look at everything, including interesting video/movie clips. Don't miss it when you're in Vail - stop by after a day on the mountain... More

We enjoyed going down the ski history path. Plenty of information and pleasant displays. The best was the area where they had the World War II ski platoon and its history. This was a by chance visit which was a pleasant surprise.

Stopped in the museum with a friend. It was very cool to see that they had already put a current Olympic uniform on display from one of the female skiers from Colorado. I loved walking through and seeing the progression in equipment over the years. The bindings that consisted of metal springs made me laugh. Hard to believe people actually... More
