The nice thing about Vail is that it is big. However, that is immediately tempered by the 25 dollar parking and the fact that they down right lie on their snow reports. I drove through a blizzard over Vail Pass because they reported 12" this winter. When I got there, there was about 2". I went to management and called... More

Vail has the widest variety of terrain of any of the major resorts in the I70 corridor (Vail, Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone, and Beaver Creek). The size of the mountain (5,200+ acres) is unparalleled in North America with the exception of Whistler-Blackcomb. For comparison the other major resorts in Colorado are in the 2000 to 3000 acre range. Vail tends to... More

Though our trip was last September, I am still enjoying memories of our mountain biking journey down Vail Mountain. Plenty of options to choose from for trails. The beauty is truly unmatched. Staff is friendly and very glad to help should you take a spill. Tip: keep a map with you with rescue numbers on it. They will pick you... More

The taste of downhill skiing in the mountains is great. Looking down from up top takes your breath away. Early morning was the best. As with all skiing, people who stop in the middle of the hill "for a chat" is strange. But even they can't keep the skiing from being GREAT. Our family loves Vail. More

One of the largest ski resorts in the world with plenty of terrain to choose from if you are a skier or snowboarder. The back bowls are legendary. Even during this limited snowfall year, the groomed back bowl runs were fantastic. The mountain has a lot to offer for snowboarders as well with great terrain parks. There are plenty of... More

Vast ski area, but the town feels a little like a (very posh) motorway service station as the I-70 runs through it. More
