Hard to beat Vail

Skied Vail 3/21 and 3/22. Blue Bird days. It was icy because of the weather pattern (warm during the day - cold at night). By mid day the slopes had softened up and it was nice spring skiing. I don't think there are many places in the US that can match Vail for the scope of it's terrain and the... More

I had skied at Vail once before, many years ago, but it is so much bigger now & the lifts are faster. It was a very busy time of season - Spring Break so the resort was full. However, Vail has such a vast acreage of skiable terrain, the slopes did not appear overly crowded. Everything about this ski resort... More

I've been skiing here for 40+ years and this spring break the conditions have been mostly disappointing. The icy conditions were treacherous and very little grooming to help. Today there was an enormous snowfall and conditions improved tremendously except GROOM SOMETHING! The cat walks are like cross country skiing with all the pushing and poling. I don't know if it's... I'm in the midst of my 47th season skiing Vail Mountain and, as usual, it's been a great ride. I can ski it all week and not see it all. There are so many places to 'hide' and one can time the mountain so as to be in places no one is at various times of the day. The vista... More

First time on Vail Mountain! Kids and husband loved it! Big mountain. No way to do it all in one day. Looking forward to riding it again.

The "back bowls" is an almost endless expanse of open terrain high in the Rockies. All that space means that there is always the perfect conditions somewhere.

I've just returned from two weeks skiing in Colorado. I return every year as I feel it offers the best skiing experience there is. We bought an Epic Season ticket this time as it offered the best value for money. We bought it on-line in Sep 14 when there were good deals to be had, and it worked out cheaper... More

Overall a great mountain to have a wonderful get away. There are plenty of trails at many different difficulty levels. What I did not enjoy was the lack of a steep pitch on most of the mountain.

First time Skiing off the East Coast and tried Vail on St.Paddys Day. Had a blast! Great atmosphere, incredible and wide runs -- I stayed on blue and green runs -- with gorgeous views. Friendly lift operators at every lift and gondola. Bonus: finding out at the lift ticket booth that a Military discount lift ticket was $75. The Buddy... More
