A trip up the Eagle Bahn gondola to Eagle's Nest is spectacular. We took the gondola up on Sept 27th and the Aspen leaves were at their peak color. We got great photos of the Aspens from the gondola and from the summit after we arrived. I suggest purchasing only the lift ticket and not the lift ticket + lunch,... More

The "Berry Picker" trail from Lionshead offers a walk through aspen and fir forests to the "Eagles Nest" area. Vertical is about 1400' in less than 3 miles so it's not for the faint of heart. Take water and wear sturdy shoes. The view of the Holy Cross Wilderness from the Eagles Nest is sublime.

Just returned from several days of hiking in western Colorado, including Vail and Beaver Creek. Before our trip, I read some blogs that panned the hiking experience at ski resorts. I have to disagree. The trails at Vail-Beaver Creek were exceptional, the groves of aspen were spectacular, the views of the valley were breathtaking and the crowds were nonexistent. I... More

Vail Mountain made my visit very special. I loved the gondola ride - the view at the top is truly breath taking - cool breeze but pretty hot in the sun during the day. There is an outdoor cafeteria at the top as well as an indoor restaurant and a couple of small shops. I paid extra and did the... More

The gondola ride to the top is so worth it. The views are amazing. Take the time to grab a drink and sit back on a chaise on the patio.

Vail has a wide variety of terrain to ski. They also groom up a huge part of the mountain so there is always someplace to ski. Terrain at Vail can be very challenging. Tne Back Bowls are amazing.

Hi! I went hiking in Vail on Saturday September 13th, when I got to the top I realized I did not have my credit card to pay for lunch. I order a small salad, since I was going to a wedding and i did not want to spoil my appetite (their salads are huge), the nice gentleman made a special... More
