Was quite a bit of a drive to get there on a dirt road. But so WORTH the drive. Absolutely beautiful and scenic area. Wish we allotted more time to stay there to hike further and enjoy activities on the lake. Saw moose on the drive.

Might be a bumpy road to get there, but it gives you a true taste of Colorado from the comfort of your car! Great views the entire drive, and the end location is worth it! No hiking necessary to get to such an incredible location! They have a kitchen for lunch, canoe rentals and a trail to venture around on.... More

We did not stay here, but just visited for the day. Don't attempt to get there unless you have an SUV or similar vehicle. The road is quite rocky, but the setting is worth it. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking and taking in the views. There were just enough people around to not feel totally isolated, but we also had enough... More

Our family of 20 thoroughly enjoyed the day at Piney River Ranch. We have been there many times with different groups of people. It offers a variety of activities for the whole family. The hike to the falls can be done by novice hikers. We also enjoyed fishing, boating and eating. Great place to spend the day.

Expansive & Incredible views of mountain range and lake. If you want to "get away from it all" this is the place. Take the hike to the falls it's worth the trek. A little challenging but folks from 8 to 80 were doing it. Great staff and Ty the horseback guide was awesome. He is the real deal cowboy and... More

It was an amazing hike along the Piney River.....2 1/2 miles up and 2 1/2 miles back (round trip). The trails were narrow at times, and you really had to watch your feet while hiking. Stopped periodically to take in the views! The lake was amazing (crystal clear, reflected the blue sky!), and the falls at the end of the... More

Hiked the Piney River Trail to the cascading waterfall & stopped @ the Piney River Ranch for snacks on the trip down. Salsa & chips were delicious! Fresh tomato salsa with 3 color chips.

We did this trail last week, with 10 and 13 year old boys. We did not visit the ranch. We stopped at the falls. As mentioned previously, the road is rough and bumpy, but we easily made it in a rental four door sedan. Do plan for the 10 miles to take 45 minutes. You will lose cell service when... More

We loved the idea of camping in a tent. Unfortunately, though we asked several times about showers we never actually had access. However, the views are amazing and the kids loved running around and exploring the grounds. The lake and trails are great. Next time we'll do a day trip for the hiking.
