Our family has three kids and it turned out that their favorite part of the visit was tubing down the river that flows right through town, the San Miguel. The water is cold and is almost all rapids but isn't deep so the kidos can float without much danger as the parents follow along on the walking trail that parallels... More

Since we were close by the river, we frequently used the groomed hiking path running alongside the San Mig to move around town. The sound of running water, lush undergrowth, and interesting houses to look at made each walk along the river quite nice.

We walked and biked the trails that go along the river both ways. Either way you go it is beautiful. Going toward the falls is more uphill and going out of town is flatter- easier to bike!

Very peaceful to take a walk along the river. You will share your walk with bikers and dog walkers as well so it is a really nice experience. It is low this season due to the drought but still very pretty.

I love, love Switzerland, so comparing Telluride favorably is saying a lot! I ran several mornings along the trail, from the gondola down to the end of the path by the waterfall, and also biked the opposite direction (Valley Floor path). Both ways were gorgeous! The path is also a wonderful place for a good walk & talk. Don't miss... More

had a few days while in Telluride to dry-fly fish on the San Miguel - it was crazy good this time of year - lots of fish with little effort. Nothing huge but just a lot of fun. There are a few well-qualified outfitters in town if you wanted to set up a guided excursion but i had my own... More

Just enough rapids to make it exciting and safe. All age groups loved it!

We have a gold claim on the San Miguel River, so we are usually busy panning. It is beautiful! We see a couple rafts go down the river when we are there. Looks like fun!

Nice flat walk in the town of Telluride, meandering along the edge of the river.
