We found this trail while staying at Mountainside Inn. We enjoyed this easy trail that extends through and beyond the town of Telluride. There are fly fisherman to watch, rapids to enjoy and rocks to sit on and just take in all in. We took this trail daily and every day came across nice folks, different things to look at... More

The San Miguel river runs west out of the narrow box canyon where Telluride, Colorado. is located. It originates at the beginning of the canyon where water drains out of the surrounding mountains, including two waterfalls which can be seen at the east end of the canyon. A road runs east from Telluride to the end of the canyon and... More

It is easy to miss this river flowing through town. It isn't very big. More like a bubbling brook. The kids loved throwing rocks and wading in the cold water. Levels were way too low for tubing while we were in town. Served as an excellent backdrop for our dinner each night in the town park!

There is a lovely path along the river through the town from east to west. It is red gravel - not good for bikes but perfect for strolling. Much of it is in the shade. One downside - warning - many people take their dogs on the trail off leash.

Great place to take you kids for inner tubing. The river is cold-snow melt- but is pretty shallow and fun. I took my kids there for tubbing and a picnic and we all had a blast!

The San Miguel River public path provides a cool respite from the summer streets of Telluride. It is well-used by locals as a bike path and 'walking the dog' path. It runs right beside the small river for the length of town, only veering off as it nears its eastern beginning -which is close to an old mining site. If... More

Lovely level river trail with access to downtown, trails, camping, restaurants, gondola, music festivals. Take a long hike or shorter stroll, watch kids playing....a delightful not-to-be-missed part of Telluride.

The water levels were the highest in a decade, long into July, we rafted down the San Miguel with Boot Doctor outfitters, very safe, new boats, great guides. Awesome river flow, 900 CFM

My daughters and I spent over two hours relaxing by the river, wading in it, playing with other families' dogs. The water was cold, even in mid-July, so we weren't up for tubing. But it's a lovely, free, leisurely way to unwind, especially after a day of hiking.
