We find the pace, location and pricing of Mountain Village works for us. There is no charm to the town other than the views. The restaurants are more limited than in Telluride. We go to Telluride for charm and most dining. But we go hiking or skiing directly from Mountain Village. Its generally quieter at night than Telluride. I have... More

I dont know if it was the time of year or if the Mountain Village is always quite but we enjoyed a relaxing vacation that was not crowded here. We stayed in a house walking distance to the village. What I liked: -Free Gondola to Telluride from the village. There is no reason to drive! -You may still need reservations... More

The village was packed with restaurants and shops, lots of activities to do. The planning was well done ant it looks very natural and festive, including light decorations and attention to details. I only wished the stores would remain open a bit later, they all closed at 6 which made it hard to shop after a day of skiing. This... More

Good rentals available for great skiing at all levels. The village is just the right size, easy to walk around, plenty of good places to eat or get coffee - yes there is a Starbucks. Some nice art galleries including at the Madeline Hotel. Our 10th year.

Very charming little village nestled against the mountain with great food and great people. Hiking, biking, skiing, fantastic music and great fun! Shops galore. Not a lot of night life, but you can't beat the charm. Great place for families.

Only a 20 minute drive from the Mountain Village is the trailhead to Lizard Head Peak. While the peak is not advised for a direct climb other than by technically trained and outfitted people, the trail and views of the surrounding area are well worth the approximately 7 to 8 mile roundtrip hike from your parked car. The trailhead begins... More

Mountain Village is so picturesque. If I only had about 10 mil, I would move there in a heart beat. I spoke to a few locals and they were so friendly. Everyone that worked in the restaurants or shops were extremely friendly, helpful and truly appreciative of our business.
