We've skied many of the larger ski resorts and have had our kids in the various ski schools. Our youngest daughter (10) hates to ski. We told her to try ski school on this trip one more time. She loved going each day. She went from skiing the double greens to finishing the week with a black. The staff greeted... More

We just got back from a week of skiing at Telluride. Having not really skied for 20+ years, I figured it would be a good idea to sign up for a private lesson for my first day. What a great decision that was. I called them up a few weeks before arriving in Telluride - booking on the phone was... More

Most ski resorts have ski school down to a science and Telluride is no exception. Kids of all ages organized into perfect little lines. We also had a teen sign up for the adult ski school (14+) who was able to quickly pick up his ski skills after a few years off.

We booked a full day private lesson with Poncho Winters of the Telluride Ski School. The four of us were beginners: myself, my hubby and our 2 teens. Poncho wasso thorough, going over slope etiquette as well as fashion and common sense. Poncho earned the respect of both our kids and turned my husband and I into solid novice skiers.... More

Pre-season sale of unlimited group lessons is very practical and way less expensive. Some instructors are better than others but overall professional, prompt and helpful.

Make sure you meet the instructor, and reashure who is your child staying with. There are great teachers but as in every place there are of the other kind who are just terrible at what they are doing. But if you get one of the good ones... ah what a blast!

Lessons here are from 11.15am until 4pm with a lunch break in between. We took the 3 day package but you don't have to take the days consecutively which is great and we spaced them out over 6 days. I found after two days I was a little fatigued and enjoyed the break of a day off. My instructor, Todd... More

My husband and I both took lessons first day on mountain. Great instructors! Was a joy to learn from them. Will go again next year to refresh

these ski instructors really know what they are doing. telluride skiing can be challenging, however the instructors do a great job assessing where you are, and providing opportunities to strengthen your skills.

"Telluride is not known for being the best place to have your first experience of ski as an adult". It has been said that it is too steep, too narrow, too whatever. I want to tell you that those remarks have been definitely been made by people who do not take ski lesson. The instructors at Telluride make it possible... More
