Totally unimpressed with this tubing run. It is decent if you are under 5 or over 65. The runs were painfully slow to the point that some folks weren't even able to make it to the bottom of the hill without an extra push half way down. It was terribly frustrating that all the advertising indicates you pay for an... More

Steamboat has been the perfect winter destination for this family of non-skiers. High on the list of fun was ski-tubing at Howelsen Hill. Located in the "downtown" area, the hill is open from 4:30 on for tubing. Make reservations for hour-long slots, which is plenty of time. There were kids as young as 3 up to senior adults, howling with... More

Great location, close to area hotels, restaurants and fun town shops. Good pricing for families. We came here for tubing and had an amazing time. The staff were great and by our third trip they knew our preferences of spinning and racing each other down the hill.

Our 6 year old and 10 year old LOVED this! The staff were very kind and helpful! Our kids had a blast going up the magic carpet and racing down in their innertubes. They didn't want to stop!

What a great experience attending winter carnival in Steamboat springs and especially the night time fireworks and extravaganza at Howelson Hill. The street events are in the town area Saturday and Sunday morning. A sightbto be seen with horses pulling children (and adults) down the Lincoln Street racing for the best time. Howelson is right in town so you can... More

Howelsen offers a great alternative to the high price at Steamboat Ski Area if you just want to schuss down a few runs for a couple of hours. It's great fun and a pretty steep slope overlooking beautiful downtown Steamboat. Also home to one of the premier ski jumping complexes in the country.

Historic Howelsen Hill is the birth place of many an Olympian. While you are there you will see plenty of future olypians training and several medalist coaching. Low ticket price is the attraction here. If you are not skiing all day or just planning on working on your snow plow this is a fun mountain.

Howelsen Hill is a great low cost option for skiing - an adult full day ticket is just $25 and our first tracks tickets - which provides skiing from 1 pm - 3 pm is just $10. A youth all day ticket is $15 for the day - and our mini magic carpet, which is perfect for teaching never ever... More
