Grizzle-T Dog & Sled Works is a dog sledding tour business located in Steamboat Springs, CO. Family owned and operated by Iditarod Musher, Kris Hoffman and his wife Sara. In business since 1996, we offer both “Learn to Drive” dog sledding tours where we bring you out and teach you how to drive your own team (typically 2 people/sled with one starting as the driver and 1 being the passenger and then switching half way around the trail) or “Guide Driven” tours where we drive the sleds for you and you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful Colorado mountains at the speed of dog. Our 12.5mile backcountry trail is located on a private ranch just west of Steamboat. Our pristine (groomed) trail snakes through Colorado’s mountainous ranch country traversing over ridgelines, through canyons, open meadows, and everything in-between. Views include the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Sleeping Giant, The Zirkles, The Steamboat Ski Area, the Valley and much more...with the occasional spotting of wildlife!

Grizzle-T is the way to go for a once in a lifetime experience. From the very beginning, the staff was friendly, helpful, and informative. We were picked up from our rental home, which I would recommend as it can be hard to find the place. Before we went on the Learn to Drive South Tour we had some time to... More

I had booked a Learn to Drive South Tour to occupy our day off from skiing while in Steamboat. Our expectations were far surpassed. The girls LOVED the dogs and enjoyed petting and playing with them before our ride. The dogs LOVED everyone. When we helped harness them, they got really exited but, when we got them running they quieted... More

This was recommended to us from friends who had previously done the dog sledding at Grizzle-T. It did not dissapoint! It was definitely the highlight of our trip. We did the early morning "learn to drive" session. It was incredible and the staff and dogs were amazing. You feel like you are in unexplored territory and the sights are incredible.... More

We had a great time today dog-sledding. They were very friendly and knowleagable about their dogs and the sport. It was 45 mins from steamboat springs, we sledded about 1 hour 15 mins. We had some tasty cookies and hot chocolate after. My only wish was it was a little longer. It's expensive, over $600 for 4 of us. Non-the-less... More

This was amazing! My 13 y.o. dog-loving teen and I drove a team od sled dogs, how cool is that?! Grizzle-T picked us up at our lodge and drove us out to a national forest where about 6-8 sleds and 50 excited dogs waited for us. There were a handful of families on the outing. We greeted the happy dogs,... More

At Grizzle T the dogs are the stars. Many of them have actually run the Iditarod! You get to drive or ride over a beautiful 12 mile course with friendly and helpful guides. Driver and passenger can switch half way through. This is the most fun I have had with any sled dog company in Colorado.

Sarah and the family, do a great job during the reservation up to check-in. They pick you up from your hotel and deliver you to the yard, where you get a little training. You then get to drive your own sleds for a couple of hours. This is a blast and one of the best experiences we have ever had... More

We had an excellent time! Everyone at Grizzle -T was very friendly. It was a great activity for my dog loving daughter, who is twelve. She was a little nervous about driving the team, but Matt was very encouraging and gave her great instructions. She was totally comfortable and having a wonderful time within just a few minutes. My husband... More

I took my 12, 11 and 8 year old to Grizzle-T Dog Sledding and was a bit nervous of how my 12 yr. old would handle driving the sled. He did great, driving was fun and easy and the scenery and dogs made this experience my favorite activity of the week. What set this place apart was the special touches... More
