Grizzle-T Dog & Sled Works is a dog sledding tour business located in Steamboat Springs, CO. Family owned and operated by Iditarod Musher, Kris Hoffman and his wife Sara. In business since 1996, we offer both “Learn to Drive” dog sledding tours where we bring you out and teach you how to drive your own team (typically 2 people/sled with one starting as the driver and 1 being the passenger and then switching half way around the trail) or “Guide Driven” tours where we drive the sleds for you and you can just sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful Colorado mountains at the speed of dog. Our 12.5mile backcountry trail is located on a private ranch just west of Steamboat. Our pristine (groomed) trail snakes through Colorado’s mountainous ranch country traversing over ridgelines, through canyons, open meadows, and everything in-between. Views include the Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Sleeping Giant, The Zirkles, The Steamboat Ski Area, the Valley and much more...with the occasional spotting of wildlife!

Always fascinated by the dog sled adventure. Did not ever expect to drive one for real. Great experience. The dogs are unbelievable. Worth the trip to Steamboat. There are many places to ski, but this experience really lives up to the fantastic reviews.

During our five day trip to Steamboat for skiing, my friends and I decided with our last day we wanted to do something a little different. We booked the tour for the six of us and had a great time. No one had done dog sledding before so we weren't sure what to expect. It was really cool that we... More

Dog sledding was something I always wanted to try, and my husband and I finally decided to do it on our trip to Steamboat Springs! I'm so glad we did! Even though it was freezing, they helped us out with extra warm gear. The dogs were super friendly and energetic; and our two lead dogs had actually run in the... More

Took my family here and they all had a great time. My kids got to pet the dogs, and loved riding around in the sled.

We had a great afternoon doing this. You see some terrific scenery and really do drive the dogs yourself. The teaching and initial briefing was comprehensive but not too long. The guide who helped us and drove the shuttle from our house was fantastic. The team were , without exception, pleasant to be around. It was cold in late January... More

There are lots of options for dog sledding in Colorado. But I don't know of many that allow you to drive your own team for up to 2 hours!

Took a Sat. afternoon to go Dog Sledding and had no idea what I was getting into. We were allowed to drive our own team of 8 dogs and get exclusive pictures throughout the12 mile run. Would definitely do this again when in the area. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Well run operation and the fun meter was off the charts.

Our whole family went with three sleds. Ages 2 years to 67 years. The scenery was spectacular and the staff was most helpful and very professional. We live in Steamboat part time and have done almost everything-- dog sledding with Grizzle T is at the top of the list. Dick Sayles
