I was really disappointed with the camping in the Wheeler Loop. This is the second year we camped there in July and there were groups of loud people with lots of screaming both times. There was a big party tent set up somewhere on the property, and we could here a DJ and a loud speaker announcer until at least... More

We took the drive to Steamboat Lake not knowing what to expect. The drive was gorgeous and setting for the Lake was beautiful. Lots of camping in the area. Next time we would allow 1/2 day to rent a boat and venture out on the lake for a couple of hours. Just Beautiful!

The lake is beautiful, but is heavy with use. There is no shade or privacy camping because of the lodgepole pine beetle effect. Unfortunately we were subjected to a campsite user who let their car alarm go off hourly throughout the night. The "rangers" would do nothing about this in the morning. But we observed them giving out tickets like a... More

This park is worth the 45 minute drive from Steamboat. The drive is beautifful with meadows of Mules Ears flowers in the summer. They are boat rentals, camp sites and cabins but the best part is the home fudge that is available at the Marina. That alone is worth the drive.

We were able to do several trails with our young children and enjoyed them very much. There were lots of beautiful flowers and mountain views. We wished we had brought our swim suits because we were only able to wade in the refreshing lake. The kids also wanted me to mention the great parks program where they we're able to... More

Small lake but lots to do. The diseased lodgepole pines have been removed so there is less privacy at the campsites. It's still beautiful.

20 some miles from Steamboat Springs but very worth the drive. I have lived in Colorado for 25 years and this was my first visit to this area and was stunned. Will go back and spend more time.

I camped at Pearl Lake State Park in one of their two rental yurts. It was my first time both at the park and in a yurt, and I had a fantastic time with both. The yurt is very sturdy and has electricity and electric heat. The water hydrants are nearby. The yurt has a deck that wraps around the... More

The drive up was fun, scenery was great driving up from Steamboat Springs. The drive was about 45 minutes and the entry fee was 7 dollars. The scenery at the Lake was nice and it was very quiet. There were a couple of picnic tables and no garbage cans. If you are into fishing and have a boat this probably... More

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to leave your comment. I suspect that you may not have found the whole park and just visited a small portion. We have several entrances with many different facilities and opportunities. We have a lovely Visitor Center with lots of displays and materials as well as a staffed front desk to answer questions and... More

The view of Sand Mountain over Steamboat Lake is worth the drive. There is a small fee to enter the park and enjoy hiking trails, beautiful vistas, and water sports if you like cold water.
