I am not much of a skier, so I really like Steamboat b/c it had a good variety of scenic greens. The mountain has a lot of different trails and my husband and I had fun seeing all of them. The conditions were lousy our first two days (we went the first week of April) but the third day it... more

traffic wasn't bad until Sat. the snowboarders fly down the mountains right through the slow signs. we saw 2 ski patrol people in 3 days. Vail is swarming w/ ski patrol- I never feared for my life at Vail like at Steamboat. stay off the main drags that are open and long. we found some great bump runs- Norther, cut... more

I just returned from an 11 day ski trip which included Steamboat, Vail, and Breckenridge. I absolutely loved Vail-who wouldn't? I skied the bowls--SunBowl, Tea Cup Bowl, China Bowl, Mongolian Bowl. What a blast! It was sweet! I skied Breckenridge but wouldn't want to ski there for a whole week. As much as I loved skiing the trees and powder... more

Too many people. Too many snowboards ruin the snow. TOOOOOO! expensive for what you get. Great snow when no one is in your way. more

We spent Christmas week in Steamboat and all in all, I liked the area. We stayed across the street from Gondola Square at the Steamboat Grand and liked the convenience to the slopes. I am a beginner at skiing/snowboarding and this was my first trip to Colorado, so I can only give my opinion as that of a true beginner.... more

Even though I love the Wasatch Big Four- Alta/Snowbird- Brighton/Solitude for consistent snow quality and depth, I was surprised how good the snow was in Steamboat. I will definitely go back. The people were great, the town was great- laid back, friendly, not jaded. If you want a party atmosphere- go to Park City or Heavenly. If you want glitz,... more

I like to ski on packed powder and that's what I got 3:4 days in mid March. I really liked most of the trails (I only went up to a blue diamond). My husband snowboards and he was ok on all the trails except for one, right of way. I was on skis and hated that trail too. The locals... more

I am an average skier and have skied a number of places in Colorado (I live here). So far I would have to say this was the poorest skiing experience I have ever had. Lets start with the price tag. At $87 ($137 if you want that powder) a day it’s getting to be a bit ridiculous. Then there is... more

Big Mountain, 4 Hours from KDEN by car, tons of snow this year and recent investment in more high speed quads. On the down side we felt the staff was not tuned into the customers: sleeping lift attendants, ski patrol who watched people get knocked down by out of control youths and did nothing and , this was a first,... more

My Husband and I along with another couple just came from Steamboat Ski Resort. The trip was fantastic. We stayed at the Rabbit Ears Motel in town. The place was nice, nothing fancy. They served breakfast at 6 am so you could get right to the mountain. The woman who works at the front desk at night is very helpful... more
