Great place to visit not as busy as the other ski resorts in colorado, but Steamboat is a true gem! If you are staying in Steamboat, check out the Strawberry Hot Springs. Downtown is small but very cute.

Steamboat is truly the ultimate skiing/snowboarding experience. Apart from holidays and busy weekends, there are far fewer people here than most other Colorado resorts. This mountain boasts a great expanse of territory, and limitless opportunity for fresh tracks if you're lucky enough to go on a powder day. And this powder is lighter and fluffier than any you'll ever encounter... More

A great place for experienced skiiers/snowboarders, but did not have a bunny hill for our less experienced kids unless we enrolled them in ski school.

They have Champagne Powder, many trails and friendly staff. The only downfall is it is pricey. Most that ski (at least at my age) only go for a few hours so it is a lot to pay a daily pass.

LOVE this town! Skiing is wonderful. Ski school is great for kids and adults alike. Good food options, slope side entertainment. Easy to get around and find groceries. Specialty health food store near the river. Yummy restaurants, quaint shopping and even 2nd hand clothing and specialty shops. Ice cream shops, paint your own pottery, etc ... Oh and Starbucks!!!! What... More

If you want to avoid the unbearably long lines found at many resorts, this is the place. Once you get up past the gondola, the mountain is big enough that people really spread out, meaning you won't be waiting long for the next lift. Best tree skiing and best powder, bar none. A perfect mountain for intermediate and beginners, with... More

There is something for everyone at Steamboat. There are lots of trails of varying difficulty, a cool town, and friendly locals. People seem happy there, and it is not hard to figure out why, since everyone is skiing hard all day and eating good food at the many fine restaurants at night. The resort is cheaper than Aspen or Vail and... I love this mountain. There is something for everyone and I've never been nervous because it is too busy. The service is always great no matter where you are because it honestly seems like everyone enjoys their work. Great mountain.
