The backcountry tour (4 hour tour with driver) was money well spent. We had a group of 4 a driver and his wife who provided additional information on things we were seeing. We wanted a tour of the mining district and old mines (abandoned and sealed up) which we got and more. They travel in Suburban's with a removable cloth... More

Rented 2 side by side off road vehicles and purchased the additional tire insurance they offered only to find out that the insurance didn't cover the wheel. They then proceeded to keep the $500 deposit for both vehicles as i had paid for both of them with the same card, even though one was returned with no damage. Owners would... More

This was our first time riding an ATV, my husband, my 7 yr old son and I had a blast. To start, San Juan Backcountry ran by father and son were incredibly helpful. They made sure we are safe, we are having fun and they even helped by taking many pictures of us ensuring we have great memories. Lots of... More

Who knew there was so much majestic beauty so close to home? We were on our first visit to the Durango Co area, when two of my friends texted me to tell me we absolutely must rent 4-wheelers and visit the Alpine Loop backcountry in Silverton. Best decision of our trip. We rented two side by side 4 wheelers, but... More

Amazing 2 seater side by side ATV tour. Mark and Ben took of 4 of us through the mountains. We went to Hurricane pass and California pass with over 12900 elevation. Snow was still on the mountain and we threw snow balls at each other in July. The views were amazing. We saw a lake that was still partially iced... More

We had two families and rented 2 jeeps and booked our train ride and gold mine tour through San Juan Backcountry. We were a little nervous about the trails being our first time but they gave us great advice. They were very organized and had everything ready for us each step of the way. The jeeps were new and in... More

My wife wanted to go into the "high country" but we only had a little time so we took a 2 hour tour late in the morning. The cost was a little high at $60 per person but the trip was great. Our driver of an old, beat up Suburban was Doug. He was very easy going and took us... More

I won't go into all the knit picky details, but this outfit was less than stellar when it comes to customer service. We are planning a huge family reunion in Silverton next year (2016) This year (2015) we did sort of a dry run with several ATV outfitters to compare companies in an effort to give the best recommendations to... We had a great tour with Crazy Bob! Would do it again. Info for all age groups, not boring by any means. We rode the bus up to Silverton, hopped on with Bob, had lunch, mine tour, museum and then rode the train back to Durango.

We needed to rent a jeep for half a day so went to San Juan. We chose the Rubicon which was in great shape, but more expensive. The standard jeeps looks very "broken in". It was challenging getting the required insurance card via email with slow phone service. After jumping through numerous hoops I asked if they had wifi and... More
