Definitely a highlight in Nicaragua! Loved our 6 hours hike/swim through the Canyon. Extremely beautiful nature and so fun with the different kind of tour because it is a combined hike/swim tour. It probably varies from month to month with the water level but we hiked/swam 50/50 on our tour. You get in and out of the water all the... More

Booked the 3 Hr. Short Discovery Tour with Canyon Somoto Tours online... received prompt responses/detailed information for all my myriad questions from Brian Thackray, who is the administrator/Foundation Supporter. We were eagerly received & greeted @ the Somoto Bus Terminal and whisked away by the Owner, Henry Soriano. Thoroughly satisfied with the professional manner of the the tour guide, Luis,... More

I set up our stay & tour through email with Brian & everything worked out perfectly! Joshua was waiting for us at the bus stop (we took the Express in from Managua) and got us to Henry's via the chicken bus. We stayed in the private room, which was small but clean. Toilets & showers just down the walkway. Henry... More

Our tour was with a group of 15 so we were guided by 2 local guides. They were knowledgeable of all the different places in the Canyon to jump, about the surroundings, carried our water and dry-gear when necessary. The tour operator trains local young people to guide tourists, so a great initiative, great activity and a daring 20-meter jump... More

6hr tour booked through sonati hostel U$35 each incl Nica lunch, ride from somoto bus terminal to guides' station, public bus to the entrance, teva or similar shoes (if needed) and a guide. We really enjoyed this trip, but we have some reservations about safety (walking through a bouldery river) and how tourists are informed about what to bring and... More

Somoto Canyon was super fun and we loved every minute of it. Our guide Ramone was awesome and was safe. We did the full day $30/person which included lunch. I would recommend the full day, and so see the whole canyon. You can do the half day which gets you in to the heart and steep section of Somoto. You... More

We enjoyed our tour (4hours, 25USD with lunch and transportation to the canyon) very much! It has been a perfect tour with our guide Luis who was very kind. He would have spent as long as we want in the water or in the sun, whatever! The lunch afterwards was so delicious! Special thanks to Brian who organised everything for... More

Seems like this attraction has flown under the radar for quite some time, which is awesome, because it truly is a natural experience. We had the canyon to ourselves for the entire duration of the 6-hour journey, a hike that consists of some flat pathways, jumping along large stones, swimming, cliff jumping (if you want to), as well as a... Fantastic for adventurers! Stayed at el Rosario and had a cool guide that even provided us with videos from the hike and swimming!

The tour guides (all local villagers) are very friendly (very common from the people of the area). Regarding the atraction, I liked it because they had 3 options and accurately recommended by the age of our daugthers - we took the option they said and we really enjoyed the walking, the boat, and the "kind-of" river tubing. The water was... More
