The falls are located in Rifle falls State Park. The park itself is not too big, but it is a very beautiful area. It is a very short walk from the parking area to the falls. If you get close enough, you can feel the mist. There are also two caves down the trail, but I was pressed for time... More

Great place to stretch your legs on a short hike and see some beautiful scenery. The kids seen coming out of the small caves were clearly enjoying themselves (bring flashlights or use your phone flashlight app).

We read the other reviews and got there early. I also recommend having cash with small bills. There is an entrance fee and, if the ranger isn't there, you are putting it in an envelope (no change). There is a small parking lot right next to the falls, but you can still easily walk to the falls from the parking... More

Not many sites, so plan ahead and make a reservation. We got lucky and someone canceled at the exact time we got there! Beautiful falls, no swimming which upset me, but whatever. Lol. Hiking trails go up to the top of the walls, most of the sites have a river next to it making a nice babbling brook sound which... More

We were staying the night in Silt and got in early. We saw this park on trip advisor and decided to take a little unplanned trip. Wow! It was amazing! Our kids (7 and 10) had the best time climbing into caves, looking at the waterfalls and exploring the area. We drove a little up past the park and continued... More

Very helpful state park rangers direct you to the best ways to explore this area. If you can, take the short east trail to go up behind the falls. Some nice ice caves too!

Rifle Falls may have been the biggest disappointment on our 7-day road trip. I did not mind the extra driving off of I-70, as the reviews and photos made the place look pretty idyllic. Our intent was to visit, hike, and photograph the falls, not to camp. The road out to the park is a pretty neat drive, and the... More

Easy hike after you park. Be sure to take the Coyote Trail up and around the falls. Gorgeous views from the top. Don't forget your camera.

We stayed the night in Rifle while in Colorado. As we exited the highway we saw the sign Rifle Falls, with time to kill we thought we'd go look. What a wonderful surprise we got when we saw the falls. This is worth seeing if your in the area and if you're a camping person this is the place to... More

3 big water falls and many others from the top. Easy to navigate but falls at the top not easy for tripod. However had no problem hand holding camera and resting it on railing. Very beautiful.
