Founded in 1991, Canyon Wind Cellars is a family-owned, estate winery named for the mountain breezes that keep the fruit on our vineyard cool under the hot Colorado sun. With the assistance of renowned Napa Winemaker, Robert Pepi, the Christianson family produces award-winning, signature wines utilizing low-intervention winemaking and sustainable practices. We look forward to sharing our passion with you!

Visited Jay and Canyon Wind Cellars on Friday of last week. A stop in Palisade to visit wineries without a stop here would be an unforgivable offense. While there are now many wineries in the area and further up the road into the Delta area, Hotchkiss etc., Canyon Wind Cellars is THE winery to visit here. If you missed a... More

This is a hard review to write. Out of all the wineries in the Grand Valley, their wines were voted the worst by our group. They were out of all of the expensive (over $100) wines for tasting so they may be better. The only one I enjoyed was the Anemoi Pinot Gris Iapyx. It is a fruity dessert type... More

This was the last winery we visited on our trip and it was the perfect way to end the day. It is situated on the river and the tasting was being held outside under a tent. It was a warm day but the views are amazing and made for a wonderful experience. Everything was explained that we were interested in... More

We showed up here as our first stop on two days of wine tasting. I waited until after a few tastings to write a review so I would have something to compare to. The ladies behind the counter were all extremely friendly. It was a joy to sip some wine and talk to them. The views are great from the... More

Even though we visited in May, the grape vines were just starting to set grapes and the view of the Pallisades was awesome. Some really, really good wines, including the Pinot Verdot. The locals say this wine grows like a weed which is highly unusual outside of Colorado. Some great blends as well. I want to go back and do... More

We can here on Easter Sunday, very happy that they were open. It's only a small cellar door but very cute. We also won a mini bottle opener as part of an Easter prize! There was a great selection of wines, we tried 4 each for free (I think, it was last week so my memory might be slightly off)... More

Canyon Wind Cellars was the first vineyard we visited on our trip to Palisade. We walked there from Wine Country Inn, which was ridiculous. You should drive. The tasting room staff was friendly and helpful, Lance in particular.

Wine tasting in Palisades was the start of a day trip up to Grand Mesa... we chose two that were open today. Canyon Wind has a very cool location, beautiful grounds that I would have explored with my camera, if it hadn't been raining hard. The wines were good, and we enjoyed our visit.
