Founded in 1991, Canyon Wind Cellars is a family-owned, estate winery named for the mountain breezes that keep the fruit on our vineyard cool under the hot Colorado sun. With the assistance of renowned Napa Winemaker, Robert Pepi, the Christianson family produces award-winning, signature wines utilizing low-intervention winemaking and sustainable practices. We look forward to sharing our passion with you!

Stopped by this winery on our way home from Colorado to California and WOW what a great choice that was! We were traveling with our young dog and we weren't sure if she would be welcome. So we were a bit slow to go inside. Well one of the ladies came out with a big smile and invited us and... More

Beautiful location and beautiful vineyard. We tasted outside and the setting was so pretty. The wines were plentiful with their specialty in dry reds. They had a nice range of age, complexity, and price point and we walked away with many....even a wine that gives back to the local pet adoption and you get a free stuffed animal of their... More

So glad that you enjoyed the visit! We totally agree that the stuffed Finley are a little over the top, but Finley (the real one) loves them too much! Thanks for the great review and especially thanks for helping us support Animal Rescue of the Rockies - we all appreciate it! If you are ever in the area again let... More

From an oenophile, these are some of the best wines out there, especially for the price (although there are a lot of truly outstanding $10 bottles and even best-in-show Grand Champions out there). A very nice tasting room in a great location on the east end of Palisade. There are three wine labels associated with Canyon Wind; 47-Ten, named for... More

There were about 6 couples tasting wines when we arrived but we didn't have to wait long for someone to help us with the tasting. Each person gets to taste 3 wines at no cost. So we each tried 3 and shared our samples which gave us a chance to try 6 wines total. We purchased 4 different wines -... More

A little off the beaten path makes this lovely tasting room a nice treat after biking past the peach trees. We enjoyed all of their wines but really liked the forty seven ten white and red blends which we are happy to find are distributed in Denver.

Visited Jay and Canyon Wind Cellars on Friday of last week. A stop in Palisade to visit wineries without a stop here would be an unforgivable offense. While there are now many wineries in the area and further up the road into the Delta area, Hotchkiss etc., Canyon Wind Cellars is THE winery to visit here. If you missed a... More

This is a hard review to write. Out of all the wineries in the Grand Valley, their wines were voted the worst by our group. They were out of all of the expensive (over $100) wines for tasting so they may be better. The only one I enjoyed was the Anemoi Pinot Gris Iapyx. It is a fruity dessert type... More

This was the last winery we visited on our trip and it was the perfect way to end the day. It is situated on the river and the tasting was being held outside under a tent. We showed up here as our first stop on two days of wine tasting. I waited until after a few tastings to write a review so I would have something to compare to. Even though we visited in May, the grape vines were just starting to set grapes and the view of the Pallisades was awesome. Some really, really good wines, including the Pinot Verdot.
