A must stop for wine tourists. Great history, wonderful wine, super owners and staff. 100% positive.
My wife and I just finished our trip through Colorado Wine Country and this was the most memorable winery we came across. Since it was the off season, we were the only ones in at the time. We had made no prior reservations before our visit. The staff was incredibly friendly. They set up the wine in order of tasting,... More
Took my dad here after thanksgiving to sample some wines. They were having an open house so we were able to try a few different ones. They do lean towards sweet wines which are not normally my cup of tea but I did like most that I tried. Everyone here was very nice and we had a nice afternoon here.... More
This was by far the best stop we made during our visit to Colorado Wine Country. The staff is warm, friendly and willing to present and discuss the wines, regardless of how busy they may be at the time. They know their wines insdie and out. They get to know what you like or dislike in wines before they start... More
This vineyard is a neat stop when touring the Palisade vineyards. As the third oldest winery in the state of Colorado, they have a history if making a good product. During several years of no grapes after prohibition the owner experimented with other fruits to make wine. This tradition is still carried on today. We recommend the peach and cherry... More
Really good wines, very friendly staff, and one of the employees stopped labeling bottles and took a good fifteen minutes to explain the process to us and show us the rooms where the wine is made. This is a quality operation with a generous tasting room...you gotta go!
I'm from Denver and any time we drive through the Grand Junction area we stop at Carlson to taste and ultimately get some wine. They have a great selection, including some fun stuff. Make sure you try the cherry wine with the chocolate glass! I always pick up a bottle or two because it is a hit at every party!... More
Stop here for fab fruit wines! Try the Fat Cat Muscat! Friendly staff pours from the top of a lengthy list on down. I really didn't want to start at the top;) as I wanted to try those that interested me more and I was more apt to purchase. Since Carlson is known for fruit wines, that's what I wanted... More
Cool winery, glad we stopped. They predominantly served fruit wines and sweeter wines, which are not quite our style.
This was probably our favorite place, not only because the wines are amazing and have some unique flavors, but because the employees were so nice and fun! They were joking with us and gave us a run down on every wine they had, and they had A LOT to taste. They also have a beautiful backyard that you can sit... More
