Description: As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies...
As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies makes an array of honey based wines. We start with pure, raw Orange Blossom honey, then ferment it. We also craft fruit 'n honey wines. They're blends of mead and fruit wines such as blackberry, strawberry & peach. We also carry fortified dessert wines. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known to man and has a rich and interesting history. Stop in to our tasting room in the heart of Palisade, CO to learn more and have complimentary tastes of our mead.

Excellent staff, interesting blend of well crafted meads.

Mead isn't for everyone. But that doesn't take away from the experience here. Even if you don't appreciate mead, you should have an idea of how it is made, what makes it different than other beverages, and what makes this place unique. They also have other honey based gifts, including things that go with or around or hold honey. I... More

I don,'t drink wine. However your wine made with honey is excellent. And the staff there is fantastic. I will be joining the monthly club and plan a return trip. Thank you so much

If you've never sampled honey-based wines, you're in for a real treat when you visit the Meadery. Roughly equivalent to white wines in alcohol content, these wines have unique flavors not found with grape wines. We sampled a half-dozen or so then settled on a bottle of Chocolate Cherry, the most astounding flavor for a non-port wine we've ever had.... More

King Arthur is the perfect beverage for every occasion. The bouquet is like nothing you've ever experienced. Beautiful.

I have to be honest, it's been a while since I've been here. But I go back every chance I get. The selection is amazing! The staff has always been very accommodating. And most importantly, the prices are very reasonable. Not certain if it is still offered but they had an ice wine that was produced in limited runs. Very... More

We visited the Meadery of the Rockies after visiting several vineyards. Perhaps it was too late in the day to fully appreciate it, but I was not impressed. I wanted to go, because I had only tried mead once before, and I wanted to make sure that my feelings about mead were accurate. Mead is very sweet, but I did... More

I've never been to a meadery or even had mead to drink so we were curious about this place. Once inside Cindy was super helpful and really friendly. They have 14 different types of Meade to sample plus 2 that are served hot and spiced. We sampled all of them and were totally impressed. The King Arthur is great if... More

Start with the people: warm, knowledgable, welcoming and customer oriented. Took time to explain their products and the range of flavors, sweetness, and potential food pairings. They have one of the larger selections of mead - straight honey wine to fruit infused blends. There are 5 complimentary tastings. My tastes run to the sweet side, but they had drier varieties... Made with honey. Yes honey, honey. Very unique and full of flavor. More on the sweeter than drier side. Very refreshing for a hot day or when you desire a taste of summer when the weather turns to winter. The staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. They made it fun and educated us on the differences of wine vs mead.... More
