Description: As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies...
As Colorado's first and most bee-loved meadery, Meadery of the Rockies makes an array of honey based wines. We start with pure, raw Orange Blossom honey, then ferment it. We also craft fruit 'n honey wines. They're blends of mead and fruit wines such as blackberry, strawberry & peach. We also carry fortified dessert wines. Mead is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known to man and has a rich and interesting history. Stop in to our tasting room in the heart of Palisade, CO to learn more and have complimentary tastes of our mead.

I don't like Mead even after visiting, but the staff was incredible and friendly and they made it worthwhile. I'm a fan of big red wines so mead is too sweet and cloying for me, but the chocolate one is def worth a taste and the fruit-based ones are decent. You have to do this place at least once just... It's not just mead wine that can be purchased here, there are WONDERFUL jams, jellies and preserves etc not to mention other gift items. There are samples out for the preserve. The staff is lovely and helpful (they called around to other local wineries for a particular preserve that I was looking for).

The wine is wonderful and is very different. I had never had a honey wine before. I am going to try and see if I can order some online!

Very friendly staff. 5 free tastes of their mead varieties. Mead is sweet, but their flavors are wonderful. They also have a selection of honeys. My fav was the cinnamon honey butter. Yummy!

This place was great! The mead was wonderful, and the ladies serving the tastings were very friendly. You get 5 free tastings and can even purchase a glass of wine to enjoy on their front porch. We had a difficult time choosing what to buy. Guess that means we have to go back :)

If you love meads, or are just interested in trying them, this is the place to go. They had 14 meads on there menu when we went. You can get 5 free samp[es, pay for additional tasters, or buy a bottle. With the two of us sharing, we got to try 10 of the 14. Bought two bottles. A nice... More

The staff was very friendly and informative, we had a great tour of the winery. We tasted quite a variety of wine and bought enough to last us for quite awhile.

All samples were delicious, and ended up walking out with the Apricot Mead - wish we had purchased a few others. Thanks again, we will be back in next time through !!

Honey wines are obviously sweet. They make a fair variety, but the one that really got our attention was the Chocolate Cherry Satin. Like chocolate covered cherries with a kick. It's a killer. Very entertaining staff, and knowledgeable. We will be back.
