We took the 2 hour ride and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were some grades to maneuver as we descended Martinez Canyon and returned that made it interesting. However none of them were too steep for any of us to feel unsafe. We had four riders from inexperienced (1previous ride) to a 14 year old who has taken English riding lessons.... More

The people are nice, the horses seem well cared for. The trail is pretty. However, the trail ride was a nose-to-tail ride. Any time I tried to get my horse to ride slightly to the side of the trail to get its nose out of the tail of the horse in front, the guide asked me to get back in... More

The owner is friendly and welcomed our group of beginner riders. We ran late for our scheduled ride time and he was accommodating by shifting the appointment time a bit later on short notice. Beautiful scenery for a trail ride.

Please keep in mind that Wyndham, the only agent for hayrides for Diamond Hitch, will be trying the fix the problems that we have addressed. If you are making separate arrangements with Diamond Hitch, do not worry. As Wyndham guests, we went to Diamond Hitch in advance, and were told that the hayride would be approximately 40-45 minutes. We were... More

While spending the week at Pagosa Springs, I decided to take my 2yr old daughter on a trail ride experience as she loves horses. The wranglers at Diamond Hitch were super nice, friendly, professional, and made sure to match a horse to my child. The wrangler that rode with my daughter was fabulous, and my daughter still talks about Miss... More

Our guide was happy to accommodate two older women (one with bad knees!) on a very easy trip. We chose to wear helmets, which were completely unnecessary on the trail, but probably protected against tree branches! We enjoyed our guide's stories, loved the scenery, and the horses were very gentle (he picked well). The guide even saw that I wasn't... More

My daughter and wife wanted to try riding horses and this was the perfect place. It cost $35 per hour trip--exactly the right amount of time for a first ride. I ended up talking with a gentleman named Wes who does the chuck wagon meal for those who take the afternoon wagon ride. Super friendly guy--even gave my son and... More

This was a very fun experience! I had never rode a horse before and it was so much fun! All horses are very trained! I rate this 5 star for sure!

We took our grandson, who had only ridden one other time. He enjoyed it, but this is not really for experienced riders.
