Four of us took the ice cave tour, and our family had the trip to ourselves! I didn't expect to enjoy a rainy, fall day in the mountains so much, but thanks to some good choices in outerwear, we were all warm and comfortable. Our guide was, I think, as talkative as we wanted - he told us about the... More

Taking our teenage boy's on their first horseback ride was wonderful or as they described it "Majestic" and "Amazing." Nicole was a wonderful and very experienced guide who made our son's extremely comfortable, and took her time showing us the gorge, ice caves and even snapping a few pictures with and for us. The horses are beautiful and very well... More

We had a group of 8 ranging from adult to teenagers. It was the most fantastic time! The guides were very knowledgable and fun. The horses were well taken care of and great for beginners like myself. The guides fit us perfectly to our horses. We did the two hour tour but wished we had booked the four hour tour.... More

Taking granddaughters on vacation is a tradition & horseback riding is a must! Pagosa Springs has many choices to ride horses & we chose this by chance. Check in was easy & we got to visit the horses first. Courtney was our guide & she was great with the girls - engaging them in conversation and asking them questions. The... More

I have been on two camping trips, one a 3 day and one a week long, plus numerous 2hr and day rides and it is always amazing. They have wonderful, well trained and trustworthy animals and staff. The 2hr and day rides always provide a breath-taking view and is wonderfully relaxing. The camping trips are the best though. The ride... More

I have only hunted with Crazy Horse Outfitters once and it was this last fall. They answered any questions we had and were very knowledgable. They were very straight forward and told you everything on what you can expect on the adventure from the very beginning till the time we got to the campsite. They gave us a little map... More

From the warm welcome the second we arrived until the lingering sad goodbye, riding on this pack trip was a beautiful adventure. Well mannered horses, incredible views, stars you could touch and peach cobbler!!! Willie, an amazing cook and knowledgeable horseman, and his staff made us feel safe and comfortable as we challenged ourselves each day creating amazing memories!

Every summer, at the end of July/early August, our group of Cowgirls (usually 8 of us) goes on a weeklong pack trip. We have done this for 18 years, so we are not new to the experience. Our trip with Crazy Horse Outfitters was one of the most memorable of all of them. Willie Swanda KNOWS the Weminuche Wilderness and... More

I went on a 'horsepacking' trip led by Willie with 4 other girlfriends. We had a wonderful time with great food and a wonderful experience with Crazy Horse. The mountains and scenery are beautiful and Willie was a wonderful host and guide!! The horses were wonderful and I, as a near beginner, had no problem.

I have grown up camping in Pagosa Springs . Now an adult of teens, my family continues to travel (now, across the country) to join my parents and brother for an annual camping trip. We would not even consider skipping our ride with Crazy Horse. We have known the owners family for many years. Their operation is professional, personal and... More
