Taking granddaughters on vacation is a tradition & horseback riding is a must! Pagosa Springs has many choices to ride horses & we chose this by chance. Check in was easy & we got to visit the horses first. Courtney was our guide & she was great with the girls - engaging them in conversation and asking them questions. The... More

I have been on two camping trips, one a 3 day and one a week long, plus numerous 2hr and day rides and it is always amazing. They have wonderful, well trained and trustworthy animals and staff. The 2hr and day rides always provide a breath-taking view and is wonderfully relaxing. The camping trips are the best though. The ride... More

I have only hunted with Crazy Horse Outfitters once and it was this last fall. They answered any questions we had and were very knowledgable. They were very straight forward and told you everything on what you can expect on the adventure from the very beginning till the time we got to the campsite. They gave us a little map... More

From the warm welcome the second we arrived until the lingering sad goodbye, riding on this pack trip was a beautiful adventure. Well mannered horses, incredible views, stars you could touch and peach cobbler!!! Willie, an amazing cook and knowledgeable horseman, and his staff made us feel safe and comfortable as we challenged ourselves each day creating amazing memories!

Every summer, at the end of July/early August, our group of Cowgirls (usually 8 of us) goes on a weeklong pack trip. We have done this for 18 years, so we are not new to the experience. Our trip with Crazy Horse Outfitters was one of the most memorable of all of them. Willie Swanda KNOWS the Weminuche Wilderness and... More

I went on a 'horsepacking' trip led by Willie with 4 other girlfriends. We had a wonderful time with great food and a wonderful experience with Crazy Horse. The mountains and scenery are beautiful and Willie was a wonderful host and guide!! The horses were wonderful and I, as a near beginner, had no problem.

I have grown up camping in Pagosa Springs . Now an adult of teens, my family continues to travel (now, across the country) to join my parents and brother for an annual camping trip. We would not even consider skipping our ride with Crazy Horse. We have known the owners family for many years. Their operation is professional, personal and... More

Crazy Horse is crazy about their horses - which means they have the nicest, best cared-for, enjoyable horses you will encounter at an Outfitter. My personal favorite is Rebel, but they are all wonderful. Highly recommend riding with Crazy Horse.

My friend and I have hunted with Crazy Horse Outfitters and Guides twice now. Both years we have had success on Elk. Both years we opted for the unguided drop camp. On both occasions we have found a fantastic camp set up for us in the Weminuche wilderness area. Brand new ,dry tent set up on high ground, sturdy cots with... More

Our family has known the staff and owners of this establishment for years. A very well-respected family with nothing but their client's needs in mind. Always willing to do whatever it takes or to go that extra mile. You will not be bored on your trip or visit and if you are or are disappointed, maybe this trip just isn't... More
