For anyone visiting Pagosa Springs and who is interested in seeing a wonderful working studio and gallery, I would highly recommend you visit ShyRabbit Contemporary Art and visit with owners Denise and Michael Coffee. A former light industrial space renovated to accomodate a ceramics studio and exhibit space, it is a prime example of what can be done to work... More

Pagosa Springs, Colorado is a great place to visit for experienced and new artists alike. I've enjoyed two wonderful classes on printerless printmaking with D. Shy Rabbit is a must if you are traveling anywhere near Pagosa Springs. You can stop in and enjoy the current art exhibit and visit with the friendly and fun gallery owners. Or you can do what I did. Great contemporary gallery with national exhibits, also wrkshops in printmaking and ceramics. Super nice folks, well worth the stop.

A friend described our recent visit this way, “like a trip to a small museum with a personnel tour by the art director”! The owners, who are artists and collectors, have created a very warm atmosphere with lots of art to ponder. For years have been driving through Pagosa Springs and of late have driven past the Shy Rabbit and thought I should swing in but never had the time. I never miss a chance to check out the latest show at SHY RABBIT. They also have fabulous workshops. I always enjoy my time there and now often go to Pagosa Springs for the express purpose of visiting SHY RABBIT.
