What a treat! The owner was extremely nice, and chock full of knowledge of not only Colorado pharmacy history, but had a large portion of that history in the shop. From the front to the back, this place is just cool. It is very much worth the small price for the tour of the museum portion, as it is about... More

This jewel of a museum, focused on the history of pharmacy and medicine, is perhaps the last thing you would expect to find in a small tourist town like Ouray. While this museum is not really for kids, intellectually curious adults should not pass up this one-of-a-kind experience. You will enjoy the tour led by the owner, Curtis, and you... More

Curt (one of the owners) is very friendly and informative. His tour of the Museum takes you back to the roots of the pharmaceutical industry and progresses thru history to where we are today. You will be amazed at some of the things the "industry" has done in the past. They have more plans to expand the content of the... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad that you enjoyed the tour and conversation afterwards. I believe we can learn from each other. Your links you provided will help shape the direction of the museum as it expands like the universe. Time is irrelevant. God bless. Curt More

This was a blast not only is Curt very interesting, but the museum and displays are fascinating. Saw things I have never seen outside of Europe here - the collections are outstanding. He discussed his plans for the future - I think there must be more items in storage. Very interesting to look at the history of pharmaceuticals. The t-shirts... More

what a delicious review. Since my plan is to live to 103 +, I've given myself some room to expand and change with time. Alchemy is in all our lives. I hope that you shall return again as the time passes by to see the magic. Thank you., Curt More

If you just go in and don't take the tour, you will see a small pharmacy and some t-shirts for sale. But going deep into this beautiful building are hundreds of fascinating artifacts. The owner is a former pharmacist and gives a whirlwind tour from thousands of years ago to today, putting medicine in an interesting context. He hopes to... More

You are right it is a whirl wind and that it's hard to talk about 15 billion years in the time allowed. I know as the years pass by on my way 103 how much of a whirl wind it will ? I so glad you came to tour as your review made do some soul searching. Thank you. Curt More

This was a great tour, we highly recommend you visit the store and take the tour! Curt was extremely knowledgable. We left discussing everything we learned and shared our experience with others. My only disagreement; discussing the negative effects of high fructose corn syrups but selling the high fructose snacks at the front counter. Pure honey sticks would be a... More

This is the best 2 hours my husband and I have ever spent at a museum. Curt is very knowledgeable about about the pharmaceutical history. I cannot say enough. The other reviews say it all. Thank you Curtis for your wonderful tour. Be sure and call for the tour times. If you miss this it would be sad.

My Red Hat Group toured this museum and loved it! We learned so much about the history of medicine over the years and enjoyed seeing and hearing Curt tell us about his great collection of artifacts.

He started with the big bang and covered the entirety of alchemy/pharmacy history. I never realized the huge part opium had in the early history of alchemy, and how important snake oil remedies were to the medical history of the US. Very, very interesting tour, and the conversation with Curt was great. I'd give it seriously 7/5 if I could.... More

Yes, there is alot of interesting material to cover when you talk about the history of pharmacy and alchemy. The medical sciences are all intertwined throughout history. Thank you for writing your review. I agree that young children can get restless or distracted. It is best that young children not be taken on the tour with their parents. More

This is a very unique tour. Walk into an amazing and beautiful storehouse of historical pharmaceutical and other artifacts. If you are a history buff or a medical person, you will love the perspective the owner gives. You are ushered to the back of the museum and invited to take a seat. The owner gives an entertaining and humorous lecture... More
