Quality antiques - not old junk.

This buyer gets only the best from around Colorado, even large items like bars and bears. Worth dropping in - museum in back.

My boyfriend and I came to explore the mountain towns and decided to stop in Ouray. By far the best decision because of the Alchemist Museum. I love history and my boyfriend loves chemistry so this was a perfect fit! It wasn't too heavy on either subject but still provided interesting insights into the history of medicine. We had such... Visited curt today, and am excited to say it was a real colorful and interesting insight to medicine products from our past. We went to see the alchemist museum and spent the entire morning, it was so interesting to talk to Curtis. He is passionate about his pharmacological archive collections and his knowledge is boundless! Highly recommended for people interested in health and medicine.

I'm so glad both of you made it home safely. Thank you for your kind response as educators as it means a lot to me. I'm not going to sell snow cones but will have other fountain goodies. I hope you both return again some day. God bless, Curt More

My boyfriend and I went to the alchemist museum because of trip advisor! We called just to see if they were even open on Sunday and luckily they were. He said he does 2 tours a day one at 10 and one at 1. We called at 10:15 but he let us come in and take the tour. He locks... More

Great collection! My dad's a pharmacist so he found it especially interesting, but anyone interested in history would enjoy it.

Monica, I'm so glad your father enjoyed the tour as I enjoy meeting interesting people that share their experiences. To me the tour is about all of us and how we got where we are today. I hope you all can return to have a magical drink for the soda fountain some day. Happy New Year! Curt More

Curt, my family and I would like to thank you again for the 'private tour' of your museum last week, 12/24/14. Would have to agree with the other reviewers about how unique and informative your tour is. I was going through some photos I took in England a few years ago and came across these photos of an apothecary establishment... More

Joe, Thank you for the kind review. The industrial revolution, yes starts in 1790 and last for many years. My reference was to the transcontinental railroad in the US as it expanded into the 20th century when the US became the world power. The apothecary in Engand probably was started in the 18th century and some items are from that... More

We took the tour at the Ouray Alchemist when we were visiting in November. It was a blast! He has an amazing collection and is a natural story teller. The tour lasted about an hour and it seemed to fly by. He clearly has a very inquisitive nature and really engaged with my girlfriend and I as we asked tons... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I found our interaction helpful and fun. We're getting closer to getting the soda fountain to work for next summer. I ,also added a few more exciting patent medicine to tell the story even better. We hope you can return again some day, as the tours are never the same... More

Cherri, thank you for taking time to come to museum and writing a review. I had a great time conversing with both of you. I plan on reading The Silent Spring because of you. On a somber note Theo Colborn passed away Dec 14th. I had the pleasure of talking with her for 2 hours this fall and I hope... More
