Unfortunately when we visited the Alchemist Museum, the building was closed because a tour was in process. Evidently during the busy summer season, tours are only offered at 10:00 and 1:00. We are sharing this review as a help to others who might be interested.

We spent about 90 min on the museum tour with the owner. It was super interesting and really made you think about the history of the pharmaceutical business. Three of us have a medical/chemistry background so it was especially fascinating but even the non medical person in our party enjoyed it a lot. The building is beautiful and the owner... More

A lot, that's what! This tour introduced us to the world of pharmaceuticals and all of the history involved. The museum itself is chock-full of interesting artifacts, some very rare. The owner of this brilliant collection is genuinely attached to each item, and can tell you the when and where of each item, often with a good story to boot.... More

So my husband and I visited for a tour at the recommendation of an co-worker and I'm so glad we did. Curt has an amazing collection of items from all over the U.S. (The world really) and every item has a unique and interesting story. He talked with us for almost two hours but I honestly would have listened longer.... More

Visited the Ouray Alchemist Museum, and was amazed at Kurt's collection of all items relating to the history of Drugs and Pharmacology, THEN the real amazement began when he spoke to us about the history of those items. He took us back to ancient times, then brought us all the way to today, explaining the path humanity has taken in... More

My husband, who is a pharmacist, wanted to visit the museum since hearing it existed. We made an apt for a guided tour for a group of 7, as the museum is not open for general viewing anymore. The guide is extensively knowledgeable about the history of medicine, both in the Colorado region and worldwide. He has artifacts that span... More

This tour was amazing. Kurt tailors the tour to his guests. He gives you a historical view of civilization's history with pharmaceuticals from the beginning of time through today. He is a wealth of information and as well as entertaining. His collection is one if a kind.

How's everything in Aztec. That was a fun tour for me, if not for you. I still remember that day with you and your husband. Please tell him hi! I hope you both come and to see the new addition and stories. Thank you both. God bless, Curt More

Curt, who runs this museum, is great. He has a huge collection of things relating to the history of pharmacology. He explains the history in a great way, which shows us how far we have come in medicine. I highly recomend this. The collection itself is fantastic!
