This 5.2 mile hike was a little more than I had planned. We went at pretty hard, was told it would take 3-1/2 hours and we did it in 2-1/2. Only took one bottle of water, but could have easily used three. Beautiful views of the waterfalls, box canyon and the city.

We started out towards Cascade Falls and picked up the trail across from the visitor's center. It is a steep trail, but go slow and take your time. Bring plenty of water and remember to give yourself time to adjust to the altitude if you aren't used to it.

Perimeter Trail started at cascade falls, Great views, come prepared for 3+ hrs with water/snacks, not too vertical but wonderful.

Packs in a lot in terms of views and landscapes around and above Ouray. However, it's a bit inconsistently marked in places (the stretch from the Baby Bath Tubs in particular is confusing, although you'll still figure your way back). Getting up close to Cascade Falls and the views of the Million Dollar Highway were highlights.

The trail was not well marked and it was difficult to stay to stay on. There are many trails in the area and the map and lack of signs made it difficult to continue on the right trail. The scenery was beautiful.

We enjoyed hiking the perimeter trail around the town of Ouray. We were able to start by walking right up to the end of the street from the hotel. We didn't complete the entire trail, only because we came across a black bear in a meadow. Due to the size and location of the bear to the trial we didn't... More

This trail was a great trail if you want to get ourdoors and see the sights! Cascade waterfall is worth the hike! Half the trail was enough for me as we went into town and saw the sights mid trail.

The perimeter trail around the town of Ouray is wonderful! It takes up up above the town, over rivers and creeks (on bridges), and provides fantastic views of mountains, waterfalls, and the town. Although it is a five mile trail for the complete circuit it is easy to do it in short segments with trails leading back down into town.

I found this trail while exploring Ouray and heading up to the Chief Ouray trail. The first day I found it steep, for a Texan (no surprise), and headed North to the falls. I found it to be very fun with awesome views of the city. I lost the Perimeter trail around the Cascade falls area as I headed North... More

Not too strenuous and beautiful! The baby bathtubs are fun. Easy to get to without having to deal with Red Mountain Pass if coming from Ouray.
