Great scenery, moderate trail with a cool waterfall at the start (we started from Box Canyon motel). Takes about 2-3 hours. Only problem was the signage was lacking. It seems best if you go clockwise (we went counter).

A fantastic way to spend the shoulder season in Ouray. The 5 mile loop trail starts off at the Visitor Center close to the hot springs. The initial hike up to Cascade Falls is somewhat steep, but levels off. The trail is very well marked, except in the Baby Bath Tubs section, but one can never really get lost here.... More

I love that the hiking/climbing club in town MADE this trail and maintain it for others to enjoy. The first part is a short and sweet climb to about 800 feet but it soon levels out as you make your way around the town. On your way you will see some wonderful geology (the Baby Bathtubs, the Cascades) as well... More

This trail is a must-do if you are in Ouray for any length of time and enjoy hiking. The hike is pretty easy, there is only a little elevation gain and a drop in one spot, otherwise it's pretty level from what I remember. There are awesome views, and a nice waterfall. It's really unique because you are up above... More

Started at the falls at the north end of town and hiked to Box Canyon Falls and back to our downtown lodging. Most of the trail is easy to moderate, lots of shade and very interesting geology.

This was a truly beautiful and scenic hike, easy to access and perfect length for a mid-day hike. We hiked during February and there were long stretches of ice within the first half--some places there was no option around it. That said, consider yak-trax, poles or possibly crampons.

I've hiked different parts of the trail over the summer and regardless off which part you choose there is always a truly splendid view. The trail also has a lot of other trails that connect to it making it great for exploring the area around Ouray if you don't want to go too far from where you've parked. I would... More

A fun and scenic trail with a variation of landscapes. We took our time and took many photos. This trail showed the beauty of this area during the fall season. We highly recommend this hike. Go slow and enjoy.
