Park was free to walkers in April (closed to vehicles), when we went. We parked across the street and just walked over. Pathways were easy to find, but some walking was difficult due to snow build up. It was well worth the attempt though for views at both the upper and lower falls

We really enjoyed the Box Canyon City Park. It has a bit of an elevation gain so it helps if you are in good shape (don't forget you are at elevation here). The paths meander around different parts of the park. Some take you by the river area below the falls and others up above them. The visitor center has... More

If you are in Ouray this is a must see. You just can't believe the majesty of this waterfall and the force that it presents. It is so powerful and beautiful. Well worth the time and money.

Very similar to the renown Partnach Klamm,in Europe, which features 700 meters (2,100 ft) length and 80 meters (240 ft) hight, Box Canyon, also displays an alpine setting and is an all year tourist very worth while attraction.

What an unique and inspiring place to visit. The falls are amazing, as is the walk to them. Highly recommend a visit to this treasure.

My family and I went to Ouray and did a variety of things. This was one of the easier walks but also one of the prettiest! If you are in Ouray then you should visit here! It's not a long hike and it's perfect if u have kids that can walk!

This was especially beautiful in the winter with the snow and ice falls. The ice climbers just a few hundred yards from the Box Canyon were amazing to watch.

Got to go to the north end of town and stop at the falls. In the winter the ice forms huge icicles that are magnificent. The walk is not difficult and parking is a snap. worth an hour or maybe a little less.

I loved walking down into the gorge, seeing and hearing the roaring water. When we were there, the water was not gushing over the top, but we could see the water flowing behind the rock. It was amazing to see.

We loved the blue jays & chipmunks on all along the trail. The top walk-over was a little bit high for my liking but it did offer great views. I think it was $4/person for the tour.
