The waterfall was ok. You walk back a short path to a set of stairs that lead you down to the falls. I did not find it that interesting and not that beautiful either. I am sure there are many other waterfall areas that are more beautiful in CO. If you are hoping to get some great pics of a... More

Yes you have seen waterfalls before, but you don't want to miss the beauty of the box canyon falls. Easy walk to the falls with stops along the way if needed. Hike continues and becomes much for difficult for those so inclined. But all ages can and should go see the falls.

This canyon is just south of Ouray and worth the small price of admission. Wonderful falls, spectacular narrow canyon. We saw a black swift sitting on its nest only 6 feet away. I recommend it to everyone.

The only reason I didn't put a higher star count is because the city of Ouray charges you for the privilege of hiking a few more meters to see what you can see for free down the road. My kids and I enjoyed dinner by river without paying for the privilege.

Easy "hike" - 1/4 mile to the bridge over the falls, and 500 feet of walking on flat ground and railing to see the fall at eye level. $4 to get in per adult. It's worth it!

This is not a wonder of the world and please don’t overrate it , but if you are in Ouray- Colorado than you may consider to bring a visit to this small box canyon. Pay 4$/pp at the entrance and walk 250 yards over a safe boardwalk to the base of the 300ft high waterfall. Return and climb another 250... More

Box canyon park is a nice place to stop for a picnic. They have picnic tables and nice clean restrooms. It's main claim to fame is as a starting point to hike to the box canyon falls.

Easy (one hour at most) group of hikes with great views. You can get right beside the falls on the Box Canyon Trail (which can only be accessed as part of the park), while the Highbridge Trail (which you can also go on through the Perimeter Trail) has outstanding views of Ouray and the surrounding mountains.

This park was gorgeous and everything very well taken care of. The representative in the visitor's center was very helpful. I would definitely go back and hike the full trail connecting to Perimeter.

Close to town...if you like you can walk directly from town up to Box Canyon Springs and then do the perimeter walk around the mountain back into town....like 4 mile trek.
