This is a great value to see some amazing nature. The waterfall drops down a shut behind a rock wall. You can feel the force of the water. The carving of the rock over the million years is awe inspiring. A short half mile but steep climb gets you to the top of the waterfall that provides an awesome view... More

We had a nice walk from Ouray up the hill, and the box canyon really is beautiful. There is a grid walkway to the falls, and about 4-5 flights of grid stairs to the bottom of the falls, so if you're afraid of heights you might have a bit of a problem. The falls sounds great but is hard to see... More

I have lived an hour and a half away from Ouray my entire life and this was my first visit to Box Canyon. I'm wondering why we didn't go sooner! We did the "easy" hike since we have an 8 year old, 6 year old, and 21 month old. When our youngest gets older we'll go back and do the... More

Visited the beautiful falls today and was awed by nature once again. There are two trails - one which takes you to the bottom of the falls, and another which goes to a bridge over the falls. The man taking money does tell you that there are 100 steps and around 200 ft altitude gain on the upper trail. What... More

Not worth four dollars, it's better to stop on 550 and see the actual waterfall. The hike is pretty, but other hikes in the area are better. Save your four bucks and stop on the highway.

WOW! This a must do if your in Ouray. It's truly an amazing work of nature and possible to explore top to bottom by works of man. The best $4 I've ever spent. It's a short walk to the bottom and breathtaking beauty. Bring your camera :)

We visit this park every time we come to Ouray. This park's centrepiece is a roaring waterfall that has cut into the rock. We go to stare, and listen, amazedly at the ferociousness of the fall. It is very humbling.

Box canyon, on the edge of town is a must if you are visiting Ouray even for a few hours. It is at south end of town, just before the highway climbs. A short walk brings you into a REALLY box canyon. At the end of the walkway you will see some of the falls and definitely hear them. For... More

Nice place to walk and enjoy the beauty of Ouray's river canyon - the roar of the river through the hole in the rock is deafening during high water in spring or after a storm. There are picnic tables with a view over the town and a walk/stairway up the canyon to get an even better view. The view over... More

We like to stay off beaten path in Colorado as my husband is from Cedaredge. But this little cayon is charming and worth it to see. To maney people for us though, once was enough.
