Stan, the owner and guide gives a great tour. My kids loved it. After the tour the kids gold panned in a mountain stream next to the mine portal. We walked on a level well lit path that went 1500' into the mine. It's a very dramatic experience. The mine tour setting is stunning. It's in the Forrest with big... More

Stan the man, what a great job he did giving the tour. Very knowledgeable a lot of fun. Be sure to ask questions, he knows the answers. This is a must do to see what real work was back in the day.

We liked that we could walk into the mine. The guide knew the information and was good at his job. It wasn't really out of the way, but once we got off the main road it seemed like there could have been better signage so that we knew how much longer we would have to drive to the mine. On... More

My buddies and I stopped here and I had low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised! We did the breakfast and mine tour and the breakfast was very good. I had the big miner breakfast eggs, potatoes, biscuit and gravy, sausage, bacon, and we requested an order if pancakes. The big breakfast which includes coffee was $7.99 and you get $2.00... More

We were told about this tour by the folks in Ouray. We went up early to avoid the rush and discovered that they have an outdoor diner that serves a great breakfast at probably the best price around. Even though the tour was only an hour long, the guide was both informative and funny. ( now I know what a... More

Loved it! Quite a bit of fun, the tour guide was funny and very informative. First we had their breakfast, which was really good! Then went on the tour which lasted a bit under an hour where we actually walked into the mine and learned the history behind it and we got to learn how to gold pan. Very family... More

We weren't quite sure what to expect on this tour, but we had a blast. It's an easy walk into the mine to a demonstration area where they show you how mining was done in years past. Overall, a fun tour. The icing on the cake is the gold and silver panning at the end. It's really fun finding little... More

Stan was the man. He had so much patience with my young sons who could hardly keep their excitement controlled. Although we can't quit our day job , the boys were delighted with their gold.

We arrived for a great breakfast. The price was very reasonable. Coffee included. The tour was very exciting. We went in 1500' to a demonstration area. Ron the guide was a lot of fun. The story of the mine is mind blowing.

We had a blast (pun intended) getting a tour of the Bachelor Syracuse mine. Brad our tour guide was a character out of central casting of a hard rock miner. The 1500 foot walk through the mine really gave you a sense of what a 'walk to work' would have been like for a miner. We learned a lot about... More
