The hotspring vapor cave is a unique experience, but if you've smoked in the past 3 months you are not welcome on the premises. There were not many other people there - great if you like having the place to yourself. I don't recommend having a deep tissue massage there - my particular therapist was not well trained. Perhaps others... More

We'd never been to a place quite like this. The vapor caves are directly beneath the hotel. We didn't stay at the hotel, but just paid the $12 winter rate and spent a couple of hours in the cave and in the hot tub outside. We were practically the only ones there. More

The vapor cave is such a unique experience! It is a great detoxer and if you get too hot go just outside the door and lie against the rocks and let the cold water run over you. Or go outside to the pool and enjoy the surrounding beauty! More

A hotel with a natural vapor cave under the front desk area, and a natural hot springs pool. The rooms are a bit dated, but very comfortable. It's our fave place to stay in Ouray. More

Loved the vapor caves, enjoyed private pool - but had limitted time. Otherwise, average at best with a high class price tag. More

Pay only a few $ more to have a more private/intimate setting, in the vapor cave and in the outdoor hot spings pool. So relaxing after a day of outdoor recreating, or shopping! A lovely experience, I go back every year! More

this place is ridiculous... the rooms, lack of amenities and the ridiculous rules are enough to understand why it has a German name... it should be named "the Nazi Hotel" or HItler Haven. You people are ridiculous.... More

I did not stay here but went for a few hours to soak in the hot springs. The cave pool, although really cool looking, was way to hot for even just one toe. However the outside pool was perfect. Very relaxing and not crowded. The crowded dark pools of the Ouray public hot springs did not appeal to me so... More

We where going to stay at this establishment, but were informed that due to the fact that we smoke, we would not be allowed to stay there. As we would contaminate their pools. We knew that not smoking was allowed and were willing to follow the rules, but we were informed that if anyone had smoked in the past 5... More

Know this before you go: 1) You cannot make a reservation for the vapor cave and main pool (you can reserve the private spring). 2) The number of people allowed into the spring is controlled/limited at any given time so that those using the more intimate vapor cave and pool can enjoy their time. As best as I can tell,... More
