My son had a perfect day for his first time on skis. Slushy spring conditions but I think that worked in his favor. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, instructor great. I hadn't skiied there in many years and didn't this time due to conditions, but I'd certainly go back next year. Easy to get to, reasonably priced, great people. More

As a result of work I had found myself on the northern end of the metro area / Front Range. Consequently, I planned to check out Eldora Ski Area. It had been years since I had been there. The snow conditions were definitely spring like (e.g. icy in the morning progressing to slush as the day stretches out). As a... More

Much lower prices than other resorts but still expensive. Our kids are 7 and under and had a great experience. Surface lift was great for kids. Not crowded not much waiting for lifts. We could par at the edge of the snow and 50 ft from the lift. During the week days the ticket office by the family area is... More

Went to Eldora because it's close to Denver, and because it has a reputation for being good for the beginner/ intermediate skier. It definitely delivered. The mountain is more than adequate for my low level skills, the rentals and lift ticket were inexpensive, the commute from Denver is very doable. The bar was very reasonably priced. I took a half... If you want to learn snowboarding for the first time - This is the place. Go to Eldora. I have tried once before in Snoqualmie Pass in Washington state but I gotta say that the trainer I had there was horrible. The entire experience there was not great at all. After coming to Eldora, I realized that I did not... More

Eldora Ski Resort was chosen based on beginner instruction and ski area suitable for first timers. Though many years have past since my last ski trip, this ski trip was the first for my wife. A refresher course was in order so I joined my wife and others for ski instruction for beginners. On this particular day, it was extremely... More

Eldora Mountain is the "local" skiing resort for Boulder. If you're staying in Boulder, consider taking the RTD bus, which leaves right from Boulder and takes you straight to the door of the lodge for just $5 each way. Even though we had a rental car, we preferred to take the bus and enjoy the view on the 45 minute... More

Eldora is located in the Front Range Mountains just outside of Boulder. We stayed in Boulder and drove to Eldora for 2 days of skiing. The drive from Boulder to Eldora was just over 35 minutes (Not much longer than my drive to work in KC). The road between Boulder and Nederland was curvy but wide and not very busy.... More

Well average unless you are comparing it to other rocky mountain ski resorts. It is not a large hill for runs and the chair lifts are really slow. We did go on a Saturday and didn't have much issue with lineups. End result it is a very basic ski hill for the hill and lodging. Being the closest to Boulder... More

First time at Eldora yesterday. Great terrain for a group of beginners. I can't speak to the more difficult terrain since we never made it off the greens, but this is definitely a good place for new skiers/boarders. There are a variety of green runs so we were able to ski all day and not get bored. My only complaint... More
