I love Monarch Mountain... after going to some of the other resorts in Colorado and having to pay for parking and take a bus to get to the lift, this small-time resort is a breath of fresh air. You park for free, close enough to walk in your boots to the lifts. There's plenty of skiing for all levels, and... more

My husband, 7 year old daughter and I just returned from a fun, affordable, family ski vacation at Monarch Mountain. We read several reviews of the mountain beforehand and decided to take a chance on this unknown place. It was certainly worth the trip. We flew to Denver from NYC. The drive was about 3 hours from Denver International Airport... more

My family and I just returned from a great ski vacation to Monarch. I grew up skiing in Colorado, so I'm used to the more well-known ski resorts. I was unsure about Monarch since my husband, 12-year old son and 10-year old daughter had never skiied before but Monarch fit into our Colorado vacation plans so we decided to give... more

Great family ski resort. This place gets lots of snow. I wanted a nice affordable place for father and son ski trip, and Monarch was it. No big crowds on weekdays, and even on Presidents Day weekend only 5 min wait at lifts. Nice selection of groomed trails beginners and advanced. Rentals for equipment are under $20, and lift tickets... more

He was rushed to the hospital and we found out that the ski patrol employee was HIGH (THC). But according to Colorado law you cant sure a ski resort for... more

Monarch is a nice area to ski. It gets the most snow in the state, after Wolf Creek Pass. It is farther away from Denver and Colorado Springs, and so it's not as crowded as some of the other ski areas. You can view the snow report at http://www.skimonarch.com/SnowReport.asp The URL for the area is http://www.skimonarch.com more
