This trip on a COG train was awesome. Our conductor "Avery" was informative. She made the trip fun because of her bubbly personality. Our excursion was three COG trains long and at one point from the back to the front there was inclination of three stories. During the ride up and down you are exposed to beautiful sceneries. Once we... More

I booked this two weeks beforehand and they were already booked for several of the times during the day we were there. The kids were excited about riding the train and it was very informative. Wish we could have spent more time at the top. We were only up there 25 mins and we stood in line to use the... More

If you are just bound and determined to see Pike's Peak, this is the best way to do it. The highway for driving is steep and curvy with no guard rails. Once you have booked your trip, make sure you eat before you get there. We were on the noon departure, and got a sandwich at the depot. A small... More

With an unexpected free afternoon while on a business trip, I decided to see if there was any chance of a ticket on the Cog Train. Considering it was Thursday of an upcoming holiday weekend, I didn't hold my breath. Upon parking (this was the hardest part) and hiking up to the depot, I was pleasantly surprised that I could... Fun ride with lots of good information as you ride up Pike's Peak. We were able to see a herd of elk fairly close to the track on our journey, as well as a few other rodent type animals. The train did leave the station late, so we were a bit behind. My only complaint is that we didn't really... More

The ride altogether takes about 3 hours, but it goes by quickly. The guide on the train is funny and informative. We had the doughnuts at the top and they were really good, maybe not the best I have ever had, but definitely worth trying.

Who doesn't love trains? Be sure to purchase tickets in advance, as the trains fill up quickly. 72-48 hours ahead of time is best. Online coupon available. Bring your own water, but get a donut once you reach the top. WEAR PANTS AND BRING A JACKET. There is snow at the top and it was in the 30's. At the... More

We visited on June 28. The ride was relaxing and the views were awesome. Rachel, our conductor, did a great job keeping all of us safe as we encountered extreme winter weather at the summit. During the trip, Rachel shared wonderful information about the local flora and fauna. Also stories about the history of the area. Unfortunately, the speaker system... More

Well, almost to the top. It had snowed before and while we were on our trip so the tracks were actually frozen over at the last few miles. They said we got to go further that morning than anyone had been in 2 weeks! They also refunded a portion of the cost because of that which was really nice. It... More

Be prepared, it is very cold up there! I packed coats for me and the kids, my husband did not... We left very early in the morning because our train's departure was schedule for 8am. The weather was nice and clear at 86 degrees. Guess what? It snowed at the top of pikes peak (above 14000ft). The view is gorgeous,... More
