Reservations are required. This train provides a unique experience while slowly taking you to the top of Pike's Peak. It is a very scenic ride and sometimes animals can be spotted. At the top you can see for miles on a clear day. Be aware, though, some people do suffer altitude sickness when venturing this high. There is also a... More

We took our four year old granddaughter to the top of Pikes Peak on the cog railroad. It was fun trip. The conductor was very interesting and very knowledgeable of the history of the railroad and surrounding area. She could also sing. When she burst out in America the Beautiful it really did make you think how beautiful this country... More

A little 2 compartment train that takes you to the pikes peak at 14100 ft. We got the first row first seat and the experience is hard to explain by words. This is the best train trip we have had so far.

Once we reached the top and saw the road we would have driven we reconfirmed our choice to take the train to the top. The Conductor made the trip very interesting. I would repeat this trip again.

We took the 1:20pm ride to the summit. It was freezing at the top! But the views were spectacular. Char was our conductor and Nick was the driver. Char was very informative and cheeky :) The ride took approx 1hr each way with a 40 min stop at the summit. I would highly suggest eating at the depot or on... More

This was such a fun trip! We were able to get tickets last minute and were so grateful to get on! The top was amazing, but boy I felt woozy! There is something to the altitude! The views were breathtaking going up and down. We even sang Christmas songs on the way down!!

We had such a great time on the cog! The staff, especially the conductor, was friendly and willing to answer questions. The scenery is so beautiful, mostly on the 3-seat side. We sat on the 2-seat side, and if it was possible to request a side, I would recommend the 3-seat side because you get to see more. When we... More

I made the reservation the day before I travel, the process is easy on the web. The weather was windy and cold at the top, the train didn't go to the top, which is ok for me. The train ride was pleasant, better view with the 3 seats side. The view was great with some snow. The altitude was ok... More

Beautiful views on the way up mountain with a somewhat corny narration by the conductor, but she did keep it fun for all. Amazing how the terrain changes the higher you get and then the awesome views when you reach the top. Don't get suckered by the warmer temps at the train station. It was 36 degrees at the station...
