I have always wanted to visit Pike's Peak. The Cog Railway trip was awesome and so well worth the time and money. I found an online coupon and used that to lower the cost. The scenery and the commentary were great. We visited the gift shop and café at the top and of course bought souvenirs and fresh made hot... More

It snowed the night before and we got to see snowed covered evergreens - some great pics for our Christmas card. Luckily we were seated across from some great and friendly people. This is important as the seating was squished and the seats were extremely slippery and bracing yourself to keep from falling in their laps was not fun. We... More

It's my second trip on the cog railway. I highly recommend it for anyone. Bring a sweater and especially a windbreaker. It can be surprisingly cold, even on the hottest Summer day. The temperature and wind at the summit is very much like a cold Winter day. The train plods along through a lush valley and then climbs up through... More

My wife and I decided to take the Pikes Peak Cog Railway to the summit of Pikes Peak rather than drive up the mountain. We are certainly glad we did. Not only are the views for the summit amazing but the unique cog train ride is a treat. For over 100 years, this railway has been helping visitors get to... More

It seemed expensive when we bought our tickets but was absolutely worth every penny. The trip is as beautiful as the summit. We lucked out and got on the train without reservations, but I recommend calling ahead and reserving a seat. We paid to park near the station, but that may fill up too...give yourself time to park in the free... More

My husband and I enjoyed this 3 1/2 hour excursion up to the top of Pike's Peak. We knew we could drive, but that takes even longer and we didn't think it would be very relaxing. Since you need to make reservations and pay in advance we waited until we knew the weather would be good...and it was a gorgeous... More

Taking the cog rail is a nice and relaxed way of having a trip to Pike's peak. In case you are driving then the parking is free at the railway station as it is included in your ticket but take care where you park as you might still get ticketed. The train tickets are quite pricey so be prepared. The... More

Need to book ahead, as it was very busy. We booked online, and the process when we arrived was flawless. We included car parking when we booked, because there is nowhere else to park. A good shop and organisation to get us on board. The journey up enjoyed many spectacular views; the conductor gave an interesting account as we travelled.... More

This is one if the best rides in the entire United States to the top of the United States, the views are fantastic and the trip quite enjoyable. This should be on everyone's bucket list of things to see and do. Bring a jacket even if it is warm at the bottom.

This railway is well run and efficient. Great scenery and we had an excellent conductor (Steve). The price is reasonable for how long a cog railroad this is and the scenery at the top and throughout the trip is first rate for this type of attraction. Even my 2 year old kept her interest throughout the 3 hour trip.
