The train ride up to the top of Pike's peak was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the view ( we saw a herd of bighorn sheep, too). My only concern was at the top. There was a very generic gift shop and snack bar and no real place to enjoy the view. You could go outside but it... More

We weren't sure if we would make the drive up Pikes Peak so we decided to stop before and take the Cog Railway ride. Unfortunately we weren't able to go all the way to the top due to weather. I guess we should have known better after experiencing the same thing in other areas of the country. You just can't... More

We went in early April and we knew it could snow but, still, not getting to the top of Pikes Peak was a let down. Spending $80 for two tickets and a parking pass (they never checked for the parking pass) got us a ride to Windy Point, elevation approx. 12000. They stopped the train there for pictures through the... More

My husband and I went up yesterday on the 1:20 train. We thought it would be better than one of us driving so we could both see the views. Gorgeous sights to be seen. The conductor shared local history and lore. As we made our way up the mountain, we cane through a great snowstorm! My only negative was when... More

We were the first up the cog rail this day and did not make it to the peak due to snow conditions on the peak. None the less, the cog rail ride is ultra cool and the views are unbeatable. It makes me want to come back and take the actual13 mile hike up Barr trail and ride the train... More

This was a nice ride up to Pikes Peak. However, we were only able to go up all the way up to Pikes Peak because there was too much snow that they couldn't clear. So we only made it to the 6 mile point. There was still beautiful views of the Colorado Spring area. We were able to go back... More

Must see if you're visiting Denver. The train starts from Manitou Depo and goes all the way up to the top. Very scenic views which can be seen from the train and at the top.

My first time in Colorado. I was amazed by the snow covered mountains. The COG railway train takes you to the Pikes peak summit. It is about 1 hour journey you get to see beautiful scenery on the way. The conductor is pretty friendly and gives lots of information. At one point, if the horizon is clear, you can almost... More

Not a hiker, but I do love trains. Never rode a cog train before. Terrifically uneventful. Good staff, informative and friendly. The little kids were not captivated for long by the views. It's a long, relatively slow trip that I would not recommend for little ones.

We were the first trip to the top of the mountain since early December. They used dynamite to clear the ice and show from the railway. It was very cold at the peak and the wind was really bad. They serve food and beverages at the top plus there is a gift shop. The air is so thin due to... More
