I have been up to the top of Pike's Peak before and was hoping to go again. I tried to book online but was having issues with my internet browser. I tried to call them to book instead and the woman that answered the phone was not pleasant to deal with. When she answered, she had a very unwelcoming inflection... More

Due to ice on tracks, train could only go up 12,000 feet, but we still enjoyed ride and view. They ask you to make reservations on line, but chances are you would be able to walk up and buy tickets on stand by (like we did :) with no problem. you have a narrator on board to give you history... Our review is tempered by the fact that weather made it prohibitive to go all the way to the top, but instead had to stop at the 12,500 foot level. That resulted in us having our 30 minute stop outside the train further down the hill where there was very little to see. That, plus the fact the Market's food... More

We were given a discount because the train would not be able to go all the way to the top. Twelve feet of snow didn't sound very fun anyway. Then the train went about 1000 feet higher than planned (although still not to the top), which was a nice surprise. At one point we had snow up to the top... More

Unable to ride to the end of the line, due to ice and snow drifts, we still enjoyed the ride to about 11,600 feet elevation. Enclosed car, but we took a lap blanket to offset the chill. Seats are pre-assigned before boarding, but staff do not enforce, so some passengers did not sit in their pre-assigned seats. Short stop to... More

We arrived in town and hoped to get on the 10:40 train. Without tickets, we quickly went into the station and got on the train. Waht was amazing was that even with a reservation, you are not guaranteed a set seat. It is only when you show up and claim your reservations do you know what your seat will be.... More

We rode the train on Saturday May 23,2015. I read the earlier reviews and knew the trains were not making it to the top but decided to make the trip anyways. I purchased our trip tickets and parking pass on-line weeks ahead via the website. I selected the last train of the day due to other commitments we had. Upon... More

We were not able to go to the top because of the amount of snow on the mountain, but we still enjoyed the trip and were able to make a scenic stop.

This was a bad experience for us. Based on the reviews, we were expecting this ride to be one of the highlights of our trip to the area. The train did not go to the top due to snow, which we understand to a point. However, the highest point where we stopped for 10 minutes had 0 visibility and no... More

This was our third time on the Cog and it never disappoints. On this trip we did not go to the summit because of too much snow and ice, in May, to safely venture. But that was OK. We are from Texas so the snow on the trees and the trip up was breathtaking. The guide, engineer and other employees... More
