We were thankful that, although it was summer and quite warm in town, we wore jeans and hoodies on the train. The higher that you go, the colder it gets. The gift shop at the top is making a fortune on their Colorado/Pike's Peak apparel! The train chugs along slowly, up and down the same path. There are no scary... More

The train winds through a narrow path in the early route and then opens out to a dramatic landscape. Each train has a ticket -cum-customer interface personnel who gives you a running commentary as you wind your way up and down the route. They make special efforts of being funny and making the ride entertaining. Watch for the big horn... More

Nice trip up Pike Peak. A lot easier and quicker than driving. The tour guide was friendly and the view was amazing. Once at the top we had 30 minutes to take pictures and check out the peak gift shop. Best smelling donuts ever!

On the advice of my sister and her husband, who drove to Pike's Peak, we took the train. I'm so glad we did! It was a beautiful clear day so we were able to see all the wonderful mountains in their full glory. The train ride was a lot of fun and the conductor made it even better. We saw... More

We really enjoyed the ride. It was a good experience, the views were wonderful. The conductor was very entertaining. Made the trip enjoyable. We were there a couple of weekend ago, weather was sunny and hot at the bottom and a cold 31 degrees at the top of the Summit. At the top it was sleeting, thunder and lighting and... More

On our recent trip to Colorado one of the attractions I was most looking forward to was riding the Cogway to Pikes Peak. I read many of the reviews on trip advisor before we left to know what to expect. When I called to buy our tickets I asked if we could pick our seats and they said no the... More

This ride was really fun, it was a break from all the more physical activities we encountered. Reservations a must in season because parking is tough without a pass. Lots of scenic views and history, we had a nice 3 hour tour.

First of all, get your tickets ahead of time so you can get a window seat! Highly recommend pre-purchase. The seats are assigned going and coming back. Select your seats next to a window. The train has a 3 seats on one side and 2 seats on the other side. You will sit face to face with others. There are... More

This ride is worth the time. Like other reviewers, the views were spectacular, the conductor and engineer were wonderful! A must try once at the top is their Mac-n-cheese, it was delicious and they gave enough for two people to eat from one bowl!

We took the last train ride of the day up the mountain. The views are incredible, and it SNOWED while we were up there! I took a video to show my friends sweltering in the 99 degree heat back home.
