You will be on a train ride of about 40 minutes each way. Tickets are close to $30 each but the view from Pike's Peak is phenomenal. We were stopped on the way up by a family of mountain goats and the conductor/tour guide did a good job of pointing out some interesting things on the way up. My favorite... More

The Cog Railway was a lovely experience for all ages. I rode on the railway up to 12,000 feet. We were unable to go all the way to Pikes Peak due to the 8 feet of snow that fell overnight. It was a sunny day with fresh snow. We even stop on the way back down and passengers can take... More

I enjoyed the trip up to Pikes Peak on the Cog Railway. It was a very affordable trip and we were able to see the amazing views from Inspiration point and beyond. Notes: No bathroom on the train, the windows fogged up quite a bit so either bring a coat or some tissue to clean the windows.

My cousin, kids & I rode the Pikes Peak Cog Railway as far as it would take us (not quite to Pikes Peak due to the time of year) on January 2, 2015 & thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable and unique trip through the Colorado Mountains. Our conductor/tour guide was named Scott and he did a fabulous job pointing out the... More

Road the train almost to the top -- got stopped due to snow on the tracks. It was cold, but not too cold (it was way too cold for me while we were waiting for the 9:20 am train...especially because most of the waiting area was in the shade). Once we were on the train, I was pretty comfortable as... More

Awesome! Great family trip, met interesting people. Didn't make it to top of Pikes Peak due to inclement weather but took lots of beautiful pictures. Stopped midway on the way down to visit Santa's Home. He was already gone since it was Christmas Eve but memories to last a lifetime!

We made our trip on Christmas Eve. Due to weather previous day/night and snow conditions, we were not able to make it to the Summit. However, once they determine conditions, they will refund you the difference. When you make a reservation, you are assigned seats per ticket so that you will sit with your party no matter what. Our Conductor... More

This is the 'brother' to the one in the White Mountains, NH. Well worth going on! The mountain views are spectacular.

Reservations are required. This train provides a unique experience while slowly taking you to the top of Pike's Peak. It is a very scenic ride and sometimes animals can be spotted. At the top you can see for miles on a clear day. Be aware, though, some people do suffer altitude sickness when venturing this high. There is also a... More
