The Pikes Peak Mountain was wonderful and using Cog Railway was easy, relaxing and reasonable $26.00/pp for adults. Many times they offer coupons and also give discounts for 25 and more persons. The staff was informative showing us The Oldest Tree, Highest Waterfall and different rock formations on the way up. They kept everyones attention with humor between pointing out... more

It is a fairly long ride, and we were going up backwards. Lots of beautiful photo ops. We have nice people to chat with on the way up. We had wanted to take the grandchildren but our time issues prevented that and we were really glad it did. I don't think it would have been appropriate for them -- they... more

the view from the car is really beautiful, at just about any time of the year. We went in early October during a freak cold spell. However, it's quite uncomfortable. You are seated knee-to-knee with either three other people or two other people depending on the side of the car. The seats are hard, straight and also quite uncomfortable. Sardines... more

Here is a fun attraction that really has its act together. Pike's Peak is over 14,000 feet high and far above the tree line. It can be seen from miles around. Strange fact, its namesake never climbed to the top. We arrived around 30 minutes before departure, picked up our tickets and used the bathroom. They keep the crowds well... more

What a "cool" experience! The conductor knew lots of historical facts and identified points of i nterest. Our train did not make it to the summit due to 7 foot snow drifts. The snow was right up to the windows of the train! But, we still had an awesome view of waterfalls, Colorado Springs, Kansas, and the Black Hills of... more

It's hard to describe this. You ride this railway up to 14,000 feet and once at the top you think, Yes, I'm here, and......? Well, that's it! You do this more to say that you've done it than anything else. You get about 45 minutes at the peak then ride the railway back down. You no longer get to pick... more

I took The Pike’s Peak Cog Railway to the top of the summit of Pikes Peak and was very impressed. My round trip ticket was $31 dollars; this was actually a good deal compared to other guided tours/transportation to reach the summit of the mountain. The Railway had a very consistent schedule of 4 different times and is reserved. I... more

The view from the top of Pike's Peak is worth the ride, but the ride itself is very interesting. The conductor is very knowledgeable and provides a running commentary on the way up. The railway cars are open air and very cramped (you sit facing another person). One tip: when you make your reservation, be sure to ask for a... more

We took the Cog in August of 2009 and had a great experience. The morning we were supposed to go was cloudy and nasty and they were very accommodating when I asked to switch our reservation to the next day. The station is nice and you can buy a boxed lunch (for $9, a little pricey but worth the convenience)... more

What an entertaining and visually spectacular way to spend half a day. If you're visiting the Colorado Springs / Manitou Springs area, then this is something you won't want to miss. I'll admit I was hestitant at first when we arrived. The trains run one after another, and the traffic was very, very congested. It took us several minutes of... more
