This is the ONLY way to go mountain climbing. Forget hiking or driving up twisty turny mountain roads with no guardrails. Take the train to the top and sit back and enjoy the view! Rode the Cog up Pikes Peak and found it to be an awesome experience. We definitely did not want to drive up! Scenery beautiful. When we reached the top it was foggy and they where shutting down the road up so anyone who had driven up had to be escorted back down.....so glad we did not have to deal with... more

If you don't want to drive or hike up Pike's Peak, the cog railway is the way to go. It's a cramped, jostling ride so sit with someone you like. The tickets are pricey. So are the gift shops.
